Um.... just because you get sore muscles doesn't mean that they will get bigger or stronger faster. The reason your muscles got sore the first time is because your body wasn't used to the work out. After you get use to the extra exercises you shouldn't be getting sore. If the work outs your doing seem a little too easy it means your stronger now and to progress your workouts you need to add more weight, or try more reps or sets. You can workout for longer periods of time also, but it sounds like you probably do that already.

One of the major reasons as to why your muscles will get sore is because you are not meeting you nutritional needs (You are not eating enough food). (High quality proteins, fats, carbs and such) If you eat like a horse or tend to eat quite high calorie foods than that would be quite a reasonable explanation why your muscles do not feel sore. Try keeping an eye on the amount of food, calories, fats, proteins and carbs you are consuming and see if you feel a change by slightly decreasing them. You could also try adding more and more weight until your muscles do start to get sore. But if you are not getting sore because you are consuming enough or too much food that is not necessarily a bad thing (As long as you don't add a lot of extra fat). Our mucles start to get sore because they have been overworked and sometimes have not been fed with enough nutrition. So if you are not getting sore for that reason it means that your muscles are correctly healing, growing and getting stronger without having to be fatigued for a large amount of time. The muscle can also get sore if there is not enough carbohydrates, fats and proteins getting fed to it within the right time to speed up the healing process (this is normally at its peak 20 - 30 Min's after exercise but continues for up to 1 - 2 hours). The body is at its best at using calories, fats, proteins and carbs directly after exercise also mainly repairing and therefore building muscle tissue which has been broken down during exercise. In other words if you do not eat enough food after exercise or during the day your body will call on you muscles for energy, which will break them down and make them smaller and weaker. Do you still want your muscles to be sore now? P.S If you need more info add more information about your training routine, days and diet I should be able to help you a bit more. Hope this helps you good luck

My muscles aren't always sore after a workout, but they still grow.

Sometimes your muscles are sore after a workout because either a) you worked your muscles very hard or b) you worked muscles that aren't usually worked - this usually means that you did the exercise wrong.

I think you should start out lifting a lower weight, then increase the weight whenever it becomes easy. You will definately see results, and your risk of injury will be much less.

omg try bigger weights

If those don't work, then use more reps. The reason your muscles aren't sore are because they're getting used to what you're using now.

Sounds like you will have strep throat or tonsillitis. Go to the university nurse in the event you need to however inform your mother you're now not messing round & have her appear at your throat. Niether of the ones health problem is going away with out treatment.
