Since we don't hear much about Jesus for the next 30 yrs maybe He was traveling around and got to the Far East and became a disciple of Buddha

no they used the money to rent a flat and bought some small birds to sacrifice at the temple. then they used the rest to move to egypt for a while until herod killed all the boys 2 and under. so they were by no means rich. at the time the wise men gave them the gifts they were already in a house not the manger.

If Jesus was a disciple of Buddha he would have said so and preached all the Buddhist precepts.
