about a month ago i was in the carribean. and the second week i was there i was feeling some nausea and i lost my appetite. so i was taken to a doctor and she says its a virus going around . and she then gave me meds. the meds seem to work with the nausea ,but i had no appetite and it was difficult for me to swallow. about a couple days after i took the meds i notice i was restless and i was nervous and i had tingling feeling in my spine . i couldnt stay in one spot . the person who i was staying with looked up one of the meds i was taking and one of the side affects was restlessness. so i came off that and the restlessness left. but i for some reason continue to worry for no reason. about a week later i traveled to new york and i got a little better with my nausea. i then notice i had no emotions . i had no motivation and i couldnt experience interest in things i enjoyed. about a week after that.
all of my emotions came back but i had new interest . any information?

Not real sure. Maybe a chemical realignment in your system just bettered your thoughts. May have had some bad side effects when you were taking it but now this is a good side effect from it too. Just explore your new interests and if you feel it needs to be looked into, go to a different doctor (not the one that gave you this medication) tell him the whole story and maybe he can explain it to you. Hope this helps. Take care.

Sounds like you have had some bad experiences! I am sorry! It sucks when you look forward to a trip and it's spoiled by these feelings. I think you had a virus and a bad reaction to the meds. Now you are anxious thinking you may have these feelings again. It's like a vicious cycle! Try to relax and not think about it, I know that's easier said than done, but try! I do think you now are experiencing some anxiety symptoms. If it gets worse, see your physician. There are mild meds that will help with these feelings. Good luck!

Itd help if you listed the name of the medication...

I'm guessing you took something that had a small mental effect.... such as a MAOI or SSRI..... it could have even been something along the lines of nyquil or robotussin...

anyway, the spinal tingle feeling is when you lower the dose or stop taking an anti-depressant.... and after you're off of it, you may be lazy and disinterested.... if this is not a normal thing for you, you'll snap out of it as soon as the meds wear off... anti-depressants have a several-week affect on the body.

Sometimes an illness can affect brain biochemistry. Same goes for taking certain medications. You need to consult your physician to get a blood work-up, see what is going on.
