Does she like me? what to do?

I'm a sophmore and shes a freshman. Many guys here go out with girls a grade below.
But I dont know if she likes me. at gym today sometimes she would look at me but i dont know if shes just looking at something else. when i pass her in the hallways sometimes is will glance at her and she will glance at me.one of my friends hang with her sometimes but i dont know if they like each other or if he just likes her, they dont hang out at lunch, he just talks to her and she doesnt really talk to him. how can i tell if she really likes me when we see each other? what can i do to tell her that i like her?

I'm just shy to talk to her. We dont know each other and dont have any classes together where we could sit down. i dont know how to tell her i like her. I cant just go over and tell her i like her in front of everyone.
