Life is not suffering; the life and mind that lacks a right direction is a cause of suffering

as they say -the mind is the cause of mukti/liberation and bandhan/bondage

"Nanak dukhiya sab sansaar"

Lord Krishna also says of the wise that he knows that this will cause bondage and that will cause liberation; he recognizes that this world is "dukhrup" ie full of suffering

Pursual of things that are opposed to our true nature is what actually becomes the cause of our suffering. You must have seen that those who are spiritual are much more peaceful, content and happy than those who are not .Those people who turn away thier face from God or spirituality remain in condition of lamentation

It sounds like your brother may be a Buddhist. One of the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism is that "Life Is Suffering." http://www.thebigview.com/buddhism/fourtruths.html

Christians believe that God did not create human beings just to suffer. Life is joyful at times and a bit suffering at times. All in all though, human life is very good. The Bible says so in the book of Genesis.

Many people have asked the questions like:
Why does God allow wars?
Why was this person born blind?
Why is this person crippled?
Why can't this couple have children?

These are some of the mysteries about which humans have been asking God for answers since the beginning of time.

Even Job, a just man, asked God why were so many bad things happening to him.

Christians have learned that through the suffering of Jesus Christ on the cross, even our suffering can become a joyful thing.

Pope John Paul II wrote a beautiful letter called Salvifici Doloris, On the Christian Meaning of Human Suffering: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/john_paul_ii/apost_letters/documents/hf_jp-ii_apl_11021984_salvifici-doloris_en.html

With love in Christ.

In the words of Lord Buddha, We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts, with our thoughts we make our world. So if u want to suffer then it is right. But life is celebration and joy and it is upto u to experience it.

did JESUS suffered sickness and poverty?
NO..he only suffering with men persecuted. matt 5 shows a stepping stone into SONSHIP. when we recieve christ..we are all poor in spiritual understanding..yet..in time..the riches of HIS GLORY is ours..here on earth.
2cor.8:9 said.he became poor so that we might be rich..(spirit..to soul to body to social to finances..to kingdom authority over satan)
by His stripes..we WERE healed.
so diseases is not ours to carry..JESUS took that, we don't need of it.and ther eis NO GLORY for GOD or for US..suffering diseases or poverty.
abraham to solomon were not POOR.
jesus had a treasury guy, worn rich priestly clothes. surely he didn't camp outside during the winter..he had place(S??) to live. in the beginning we all start poor, like graduating college..over time, wealth accumulate, thing is, can't worship $$, $$$ is a tool as SEED to plant nad harvest come back..this is spiritual principles. to learn and graduate into as we get smarter.
BY HIS STRIPES.ye wre HEALED is past tense statement..by FAITH we speak..eventually the heart of man..quicken made alive full of POWER.and healing come forth..supernaturally. been therre and done it..it works!

It all depends on the person and their circumstances. Whatever suffering we go through in this short life can be rewarded in eternity.

Life includes pain, but suffering and pain are not the same. I can be in pain and accept it, or I can wish I was not in pain and suffer. It is my choice.
