Somebody asked me today why I didnt keep Christmas. I said I didnt really get it, I never grew up with it. My religion keeps it. She said Christ will forgive you. I said I dont think he cares I show my feelings another way. She said you go to my church and dont keep Christmas. I said Christmas doesnt mean christ to me, but it might to you. Neither are wrong so I asked her and I ask you.

What does Christ mean to you?

Well, it means temporary relief on the few occasions that I scream it.

Well, when I read the word, "Christ" it only means one thing because I have never seen that word used for anything else except to describe Jesus who we all know about. But when I speak of this person, I always use the name Jesus, and not Christ. So, I suppose that all the Christians out there will say that I'm going to hell. And I really don't care what they think.

I tend to agree with the Jews and Muslims about Jesus as not being any Christ. And often I wonder what it matters anyway, since Jesus said, "Whatever you do for the least of these, you do to me." And that about sums up the message he was trying to get across. So, I try to do that, and I think when I die, I'll be O.K. even if Jesus is the Christ. He would probably say to me, "Well done my son."

Far too many Christians have fallen into the false thinking that all you have to do is to believe that Jesus is Christ, and then regardless of how far you fall into evil, you are still "saved". Well, it just ain't so! Because, as I once heard or read, "We don't go to heaven, we take heaven with us." After all, where did Jesus say heaven is? Inside of us.

I’m sad that “lb_centaur’s comparison of morals of ATHEISTS vs BELIEVERS has some validly.
I think that “external source” (Christ) he refers to is more than a compass, if not corrupted it provides a detailed map, a “resource” for a happier more full life.

Religion of thought control.
Lack of understanding.
Lack of proof.
Lack of intelligence.
Lack of selfless compassion.
Lack of selfless charity.
Lack of true morals.

Whose morals are stronger?

ATHEISTS - who have an intrinsic sense of positive and negative behaviors, understanding that each situation is unique calling for flexible rules. Atheists possess an internal compass -- a golden compass -- to help guide them toward positive and negative outcomes. Atheists possess great courage by taking a stand on something they believe.

BELIEVERS - who would have no sense of morality in absence of god or bible. Believers whose only sense of morality comes from an external source yet possess no internal compass to guide them through life. Believers only have a book to point to for their beliefs.
