but debate Christians on an "imaginary" God
Doesnt make any sense.
Seems like they know there is a possibility that this God exists. Otherwise they wouldnt be wasting thier time refuting Christians on this make believe fake God right.
Lets see how many avoid the question and divert to infantile attack and irrelevant arguments............

if it affects your laws that govern your life dont you think thats more of an incentive to follow? christianity does not rape citizens. please stop manipulating yourself to believe it does. everyone is free to live how they want. this is the US, not Iraq.

nor prevent you from running for office. those complaining about how their children have to stay home for easter, good friday and so on are definetly not complaining for Congress to make those holidays official work/school days. You bask in the holidays as everyone else so please stop it with the illegitimate reasonings. if laws are dictating your life there is certainly no protests from atheists which suggests that you are comfortable with such lifestyle. nothing is forced upon people in the US though this is what many atheists want to believe for whatever suppressive mentality that they have.

We're too busy debating the existence of bigfoot and the loch ness monster. Srsly, the spaghetti monster is in our next meeting. Give us time, we think stuff over alot. We tend to be indecisive, actually.

I can't speak for all atheists, but I don't debate the existence of Tinkerbell or the FSM because people don't assume that I really do believe in them. As a matter of fact, I have yet to meet ANYONE at all that argues that either is a real entity that must be respected. Quite frankly, there just isn't anyone to argue with. Now, if there WERE people that believed that these entities were real, and tried to make everyone else believe the same, then you'd see me debating the existence of those entities.
Does this help, or do you believe that I avoided the question and diverted to infantile attacks and irrelevant arguments? If so, we can debate whether or not I answered the question appropriately...

Because no one is trying to make me live according to laws based on Tinkerbell.
People do not fly planes into buildings because they think that's what the Flying Spaghetti Monster would want them to do.
They do not disrupt my child's science education by trying to have something that they think Tinkerbell said included as an "alternative theory".
People are not forbidden from running for public office in this country based on the fact that they don't believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
It being put in our laws should be MORE of an incentive to follow it? That's FORCING religious beliefs on people! That's exactly what we're fighting against. Like you said...this is the U.S...not IRAQ.

Okay, heres why - we KNOW that all religeons are constructs by logic. Tinkerbell and Spaghetti Monster are generally accepted by even Christians and other religeous folks to be fictional.
There are uses for The Spaghetti monster in a debate.
But, we are trying to show Christians and others, Logic and how to be free from servitude to a church.

Well for one...I can look up the creator of tinkerbell and see the artist creating her....never heard of the spaghetti monster...But that seems like something I would call my daughter when she makes a mess with her pasta.
As far as arguing (I prefer debate) with christians is because the belief in christianity effects all aspects of society and last time I checked tinkerbell doesn't. Religion effects our laws (Abortion, same sex marriage, death penalty, etc), schools (pledge of allegiance, school days missed for goodfriday, easter, christmas), health (catholic hospitals won't perform certain procedures),and things like that.

Atheists know that Tinkerbell is a fictional character. We also invented the Flying Spaghetti Monster in response to Christians' demands that creationism be taught in schools. FSM is a joke, honey, created to rile you all.
And I have yet to run across anyone who claims to his/her life according to Tinkerbellian or Pastafarian tenets.

very simple
believers in tinkerbell and the Flying Spaghetti Monster (sbuh) do not threaten non-believers with with eternal damnation, and, more importantly, don't try to make laws that enforce their beliefs on others

Because no one is debating that those characters exist. There is no debate for there to be an argument.

Because people who believe in Tinkerbell :
1. Don't try to get other people to believe in Tinkerbell.
2. Don't tell other people that they are going to hell for not believing in Tinkerbell.
3. Don't try to get the story of Tinkerbell taught in Science classes.
4. Don't persecute people because their sex lifes don't agree with Tinkerbells.
5. Don't try to stop medical research that Tinkerbell might not like.
How's that ?
