He constantly kept changing his training methods over the years, so it's really impossible to say. It took him about 5-10 years to start his sort of peak area, but over that time, and the rest of his life, he was constantly trying new things, taking supplements (Not drugs), protein shakes, modifying his diet, modifying the arts he did, et cetera.
It wasn't really about what he looked like though. I mean, his physique was amazing, but he had way more function than aesthetic. That was his goal: Function function function...
If you want to go for it: Go ahead, but you have to train intensively hard, consistent, and you most definitely have to change your concepts up. Some say Lee over trained as well, so you might want to watch for that. You build muscles when you rest, not when you work. He actually did weight training 3-days a week, but he exercised everyday in some way, minus the time he got injured for six months from a back injury he got from doing weighted "Good mornings" (It's basically bending over with a barbell on your back: Don't do it).

You can be ripped like him in only a few months (assuming you aren't too fat). You'll need a very strict diet of mostly vegetables and lean protien and have to workout everyday for several hours.
But if you want to be able to fight like him, that's a totally different story....
