Is it that unusual to have never had a boyfriend? Will I die a spinster or is there hope for me yet?

Hi there,

People's lives pan out differently to each other. Things happen in all our lives at different times. If it didn't we'd all be the same.

If someone talks about having a relationship late, well...., late compared to what. The truth is, you can't compare yourself with anyone- you are an individual. There is no late/early starting, just the right time for you.

I'm 34 and single, but I'm not about to get Bridget Jones syndrome (Oh no I'll never get married). Things happen in life in their own way and when they do, that is the right time for that person. There is no early/later starting etc.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards and a happy festive season.

well, its not abnormal to be single a 22, its a little more unusual to never have had a boyfriend, but not a lot. maybe there is something about you that is a bit unattractive to some. (I;m not saying that you're way mean or anything) are you overweight? bossy? very shy? take a look at some of your daily things and put yourself in someone else's shoes, and ask yourself if you would be attracted to someone like you. you might just be shy, if so, get out there and flirt! compliment, comment, etc. there is ALWAYS hope. maybe ask your friends if they think that you're this or that, and ask them to be honest. make sure you dont get mad at them if they say that you can be selfish sometimes or something!

The vast majority of people are single at 22. If they are smart they don't get married until after college when they can both get good jobs. And I hate to be the one to tell you, but even if you have a "boyfriend" you are still single until the minute you say "I DO" in a wedding ceremony.

LOL. You have PLENTY of time. You are still young. Do not let it get to you. There is so much hope for you. Would you rather be single at 22 or be in an abusive relationship where your boyfriend ends up killing you?? I'd choice the single life. You have PLENTY of time!!!

Everyone always says "you will find someone eventually". But I'm sure at 22 years old you are probably doubting this. Just don't stay at home thinking this. Nothing will happen otherwise. Have a positive attitude. Say to yourself "yes, I can get a boyfriend". Go out with friends and find some guys to flirt with. Who knows? You might find someone special.

There is always hope, just dont let people bring you down, and stay away from people who " pretend to love u" as they just will want to use u for sex ect... when you think it is time, find a suitable partner ask for advice and get married to them.

No it's not abnormal.

Why don't you concentrate on something constructive, like gaining a career then a man will come along when the time is right.

No of course not.

You'll just have to get looking.

Try some dating sites as well - that's how I met my husband. Just remember to stay safe and be sensible.
