u should just take it, after all, Allah knows trutly ur intention and that u dont want to celebrate christmas, the Prophet used to take them even from non muslims, and besides, it'll make ur mom feel better, and thats wat really matter, even is she isnt a muslim

Just take the gifts because if you don't then you are being rude, and the prophet use to take and give gifts to non Muslims, example the Jewish beggar. It is good to be Muslim but do not exaggerate it she is your mother don't you want her to celebrate your Eid with you do the same for her, if you start complicating your life for the wrong reasons you will be following the wrong road without realizing it concentrate on your prayer the most and reading the Qur'an, we have a saying don't hold the ladder side ways. Islam is peace and harmony with all mankind. Relax take a deep breath. Didn't you know the prophet said paradise lies under the feet of thy Mother

In my point of view, you can both accept the gifts AND get your mom gifts and still not celebrate Christmas if you don't want to. It's all in your heart.

you can accept them.
my dad often recieves christmas presents from the people he works with.
Why not accept it? you dont want to give the impression that Muslims are hotheads! and how would you feel if you gave a non-muslim an eid gift, and they turned you away?
and if you really dont need them, donate them to the needy :)

You need to accept them! There is nothing wrong with accepting a gift.
There is a hadith that meantions 3 things which you should never refuse to do
1. Accepting a gift
2. Accepting an invetation
3. Anserwing the Salaam ( i think)

But as she is your mother you should not disrespect her by not taking them. Islam isn't so harsh.

accept the gifts from your mother, remember intention is what counts. You need to please your mother too and try to be kind towards her so Allaah may also guide her through your actions.
I think in good faith you should take the gifts and keep them, as to please your mother. You are not celebrating christmas....just taking gifts from your mom. I would do the same.

you can accept the gift but don't congratulate it with that kafir statement what they (pagans and christians) use and you can not give her a gift on this certain day because that is imitation of their festival
