Joseph interpreted the Pharaoh's dream and he made Joseph his right hand man and in charge of all his food and land. When the great drought came and people were starving Joseph brought his people to Egypt to save their lives.
Joseph went through very bad times but God meant it all for good and Joseph saw it. Sometimes it takes coming to our old age to see what God has done for us throughout our lives.
You can look back and see God's hands in many things in your life.
Praise His Holy Name - Jesus!

Well, Joseph lived to tell the story. It would have really been good if God had shown up and told Josephs brothers not to throw him in the well in the first place. Or perhaps if Josephs parents had gathered a few people and searched everywhere the boy had been that day. I'm sure SOMEONE had known that he was in a place where there was a well and it was possible he could have fallen in. But I understand, people didn't think very clearly back when this story was written.

Is that all you know of Joseph's story? If it is, Joseph went on to become second-in-command in Egypt. Only Pharaoh was more powerful than Joseph. And there was eventually a famine in the land and Joseph helped his family survive by being in his position in Egypt.
Yes, God can bring good out of bad situations. You just have to let Him in to help you.

To answer your question within the confinements of the Christian religion, it would probably be a yes.
As for your second question, have you read the story of Joseph? Joseph becomes a leader of the people. Apparently "God" made good out of the bad situation. Read the story.

Since he's a FICTIONAL CHARACTER, you can make believe him to do anything you want him to.
That's what's so freakin neat about FICTION.
