Ok, I live here in Ohio. I had some renters and we had to evict them. They left a awful mess. Well they turned in the keys. Two days later they went back up to the house and busted all of the windows out. Is their anyway I can get them for Vandalism or Criminal Damaging? The people are known for this type of stuff. They have records a mile long.

Hello. I'm only 14 years old. I have that name because I have a dream to be a Detective. I know I'm going to pursue my dreams. I have faith. You don't need to be running me down.

At the time we did not know they were criminals. After we seen the sheriff go up and arrest them, I did a background check on them and found all of this info about them.

Well, Teenage Detective, first off, I wouldn't waste too much time worrying about the comments of the various riff-raff in this forum. What they said about your case is to my knowledge quite true though: unless you have a way to prove it was them you can't even begin to have them prosecuted.

That's what detective work is all about.

Could there be SOME part of their.. um.. handiwork that you know could not have been touched by them prior to their little post-key-return party? try dusting for fingerprints.

If the windows they busted out were double pane insulating windows, dust the insides of each pane of glass.

In most apartments, you'll know which was the inside face of each pain because those will be the clean sides. The outsides usually have paint and mildew on them.

If you don't yet know how, just visit your local library and pick up a Boy Scout Fingerprinting Merit Badge Pamphlet.

You need to do it quickly before the cleaning crew arrives and destroys your evidence.

wow u are a really smart girl to be figuring all this stuff out. i have no idea if u can prove that they did it or someone seen them do it then i think u can take it to court. U could try to take it to court sense they have a mile long rap sheet. But not sure u could get money out of them unless u prove they did it.

Step 1 is proving it was them...without that, there is no Step 2. Being known for this type of stuff isn't proof.

If you can prove they did the crime, then yes. I assume from your question that your name and the uniform in the picture are not accurate...

I can't help thinking - 'you rented to people with this kind of rep?'
