the easiest way for me is to stick to one type of drink all night, and have a tall glass of water for every 2 alcoholic drinks.
when i wake up, more water, 2 advil, and NO hangover whatsoever!

Pace yourself. Do not feel that just because everyone around you is drinking or drunk, that you need to be as well. There will always be another party in the future, so don't feel like New Year's is the be-all-and-end-all. Shots are a BADDDD idea. You definitely don't want to embarass yourself or forget the entire night!
The most IMPORTANT thing to do is to make sure you EAT something before you start partying. Drinking on an empty stomach is never a good idea. Also, pretzels and chips and party snacks aren't going to cut it... you need to eat an actual meal, otherwise the alcohol will make you sick.
Stick to only one type of alcohol - whether it's beer or wine or cocktails - mixing different ones creates a big problem and you're likely to drink more. If you promise yourself you'll only drink one type of beverage, the chances are you'll get tired of that beverage before you can have too many of them.
Make sure you drink a big glass of water and take an Advil or Tylenol before bed, and drink another big glass of water as soon as you wake up. You may even want to keep a water bottle on your nightstand, because some people get cotton-mouth in the middle of the night after drinking.
If you wear contacts or makeup, make sure you take them out and wash your face, no matter how intoxicated you are, because waking up with lenses stuck to your eyes and lipgloss everywhere is only going to make you feel worse. If you're crashing at a friends' place, try to get a spot on a couch on in a guest room - avoid sleeping on the floor, otherwise you'll be achy AND hungover! The best option: have a sober friend drive you home where you can sleep in you own bed.
Whatever you do - NEVER get behind the wheel if you've been drinking. Be safe, and always have a designated driver. Have fun!

Pop some advil or tylenol before leaving home. Have a glass of water close by and have a sip very often.
No compelling evidence exists to suggest that any conventional or complementary intervention is effective for preventing or treating alcohol hangover. The most effective way to avoid the symptoms of alcohol induced hangover is to practise abstinence or moderation.
BUT
This recipe for shure can help you:

water, water and more damn water...... i drink 1 glass of water for every drink, to avoid dehydration, also, no mixing drinks. and definitely no shots. take 1 sip of the champagne and thats it, 1 glass of champagne mixed with whatever you are drinking will give you THE WORST hangover....... when you think you have had enough water, drink more. try to stay away from any cocktail that has a sweet alcohol in it, such as white russian or apple martinis...... the sweetness causes a mad hangover, eat little bits of food here and there and take 3 advil or aleve before bed with a huge glass of water!!!
stay safe and happy new year!!!!

I use a herbal remedy called milk thistle,it cleanses and de-toxifys your liver while you sleep. It may not stop you getting a hangover but it certainly lessons the symptoms, try it you wont believe it!
You must take two capsules before you go to bed with a large glass of water and two in the morning with orange juice it works for me and my friends. It is completley natrul and un-harmfull,but remember no matter how well you feel dont drive your car! this stuff doesnt decrease your blood alcohol limit

Drink a big glass of water before you go to bed (or pass out) and take lots of B vitamins when you wake up with another big glass of water. That always does the trick for me.

Drink slowly. Drink one kind of drink. Dance a lot. Eat first.
This way, you won't get falling down, stinking, puking drunk, and will remember your party and your date.
No inside-out T-shirts and you don't remember how you got home or with whom.
All things in moderation. Moderation meaning different things for different people. With me, moderation is one or two drinks, dancing and talking, so I can drive myself home without getting hurt or a ticket.
I drink 2 or 3 seltzer waters for every alcoholic drink I indulge in.

The damnedest theory I have ever heard was created by a bunch of young guys trying to stay un-hungover(is there such a word?) throughout Medical School. They swear it works but I've never tried it.Tape or squeeze and hold a lemon quarter under your armpits the morning after.Supposedly the citric acid pulls the toxins from your bloodstream to help you recover faster.........If that one doesn't help you.I have also heard from that in the ancient days.Kings and people of importance would eat cabbage before they planned a night of banqueting and drinking.I have tried this one and it did help.If you like cabbage that is.Hope these help out.Best of Luck to you.
