It takes more faith to believe in the theory of evolution than to believe in the God of the Bible. I assume this is what you're getting at?

The problem with your question is that you start out with a wrong assumption: that they "just happen" to form life.

We've heard that same argument from Creationists and "Intelligent Design" people before. They also like to use the term "RANDOM".

There's nothing that's "random" about chemistry. Biochemistry doesn't "just happen". There are NATURAL RULES on how chemicals react to each other.

Put the right chemicals in the right environment, with the correct energy input (such as electricity/lightning and sunlight/radient energy and vulcanism), and you can see how elements and molecules can form ever more complex forms. Over millions of years (which is kind of hard to replicate in a laboratory, don'tcha think?) these more and more complex chemicals could have formed life.

Now see, THAT is a HELL of a lot more logical than thinking some supernatural old man with a long white beard, frustrated from a war in which he lost control of some sycophantic winged creatures, decided to play house and create mankind by muttering "abracadabra", just so he could create some more beings to worship him in his egocentric psycopathy.

So, no faith is involved at all to believe in evolution - just INTELLIGENCE.

>How much faith does it take ... to believe you can put non living material together and over time they just happen to form some living thing?

Given that the effect has (as far as I know) been demonstrated in computer simulations, I would say not very much.

Its been tested. Inorganic molecules have been shown to become the beginnings of life in the right conditions such as the conditions present when the Earth was forming. Do a search on abiogenis and learn something. There several succesful experiments that prove this is possible.

This question makes no sense. Then again I can't see any sense in religion. How bout this question. Am I the religion I am because of where I was born? Why did Jesus kill a fig tree? Why does the church not have to pay taxes, and yet it inserts it's self into politics? Why did Josephus never mention Jesus Christ? How many Christians did Saul kill before he became "Saint Peter". Bet you don't even know what I am asking, because like everyone you have just been spoon fed your beliefs and have never bothered to learn for yourself.

darwin thought the same thing about a piece of meat. the meat is obviously not living and then later flies would fly out of it. so back then, people thought it was common knowledge that living things can spring out of non-living matter. that was disproven.

"God grant me the serentity to accept things i cannot change, courage to change things i can, and wisdom to know the difference." Reinhold Neibuhr

Put your faith to understand that statement.

Faith in non living material? That is funny.
Put your faith in yourself, into your fellow man or into God.
Believing in God would be your best bet.

Try looking at a rock under a powerful microscope. Every atom in the Universe moves, changes, and develops. Nothing is "non-living material".

Hope I'm around the day the headlines read..."SCIENTISTS FORCED TO ADMIT THAT THEORY OF EVOLUTION IS A GROSS ERROR" Some day it will be laughed at as an ancient theory that man made to fit his own ideas about creation.
