Whether you are theists, agnostics or atheists, do you like discussing religion, philosophy and spiritualism over a coffee or beer? Do you love to disagree and hear sound arguments and debate regarless of your belief?

One positive thing about Y!A is that I get to think more often during my long days and compells me to do some reading and reseach I otherwise wouldn't do normally.

It's why I am here! It is hard to meet people that want to discuss religion in this PC world we live in, but I love it...ESPECIALLY when I disagree or have a differing view point than those in the discussion. Not so I can yell or argue, but because it helps me to know what I believe and to stand behind it. I don't have to have the last word or be right and welcome things that can cause me to question or research something. It is an essential part of who I am and I can't NOT talk about it.

No wonder you're having a hard time with it. It's doesn't prove that God exists. What he's saying is that God is perfect. Only God is perfect. Human perfection is unattainable. No one living right now can be perfect. If a being was perfect, then he must be divine, or a god. Basically, if perfection can be attained, it can only be attained by God. It can only really be supported by people who believe in God, though. So, even though I do believe this is a true statement, I can't say that this argument proves that God exists. It starts with the presupposition that God exists and is perfect. It doesn't prove anything except to people who already believe it.

I don't think that religion and philosophy can coexist. Philosophy tries to get to the root of existence, to find the deeper truth. Religion tries to alter the world to fit its own concept of the truth.
