This verse has been spoken on me personally many times, so I have claimed this verse for myself.... Jeremiah 29:11:

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." (New King James Version)

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." ~Romans 8:28 (New King James Version)

"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." ~ Philippians 1:6 (New King James Version)

I like the withering fig tree stories...

(Matthew 21:19) - "Seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves only; and He said to it, "No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you." And at once the fig tree withered.

(Mark 11:14,20) - "He said to it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again!" And His disciples were listening. . .As they were passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up."

One of them is obviously lying... which one?
