I know cigarettes and drugs are bad for me. That's why I don't smoke in real life. Bu, why do I dream about such things?

To dream that you are smoking, indicates that you are trying to shield yourself and others against your emotions. You have trouble letting others in.

in some cases, smoking is a sign to people that you are cool (remember back to grade school, cigarettes make you think you look cool). Could be a sign of insecurity socially. Could also mean you have thought about it recently, unless something else happened in the dream, hard to say.

If you want the real meaning ask God. I say you are faced with a choice to make. Going to do something your not sure about.In real live you wouldn't choose to smoke. Pray for help. With out Him you can do nothing.
