First off, take a deep breath and realize your hormones are talking more than the facts.
If you are in Turkey (which is not the Middle east by the way it's Asia) I'm not sure your statistics are correct, however, the fact is that women all over the world have babies all the time without "modern conveniences" and many CHOOSE to have them at home in the States (it's actually safer these days but I digress...). If you fly to Germany you will still probably deliver in a German hospital rather than an American one unless you are considered high risk. American women do it all the time and many love it! Even if you aren't in Turkey but rather are in Egypt or Saudi it was still your choice to go and to make the best of it.
I don't know if you are involved or not but there should be a PWOC (protestant women of the chapel) near you, if you can link up with some of these women they may be able to help you or even accompany you (if hubby is deployed), watch the kiddos. Or the FRG may be willing to help.
The fact is as a military wife you must make some tough choices and trust your sisters. You DO have choices here --- the military has offered to take care of you and help you deliver, to help you set up childcare if you can't (FRG), pay for said delivery, etc. Or you have the choice to seek local care on your own, or fly back to the States. Even if you were in Germany or elsewhere these would be your choices. Even in the States if you want to see a doc/midwife who's not a Tricare provider or fly home to Mom you must pay for it.
You've had your chance to vent and whine now what are you going to do about it? Make the best of the situation or make yourself, your children, your family, your unborn child, your spouse, your neighbors and the command miserable?

They are supporting you; just because not many Americans have had babies where you are at doesn't mean anything-how many babies have been born there to others. If the medical is available and you prefer something else why should the military or the taxpayers pay for it? they gave you an option and you want nothing but what you want or you will have a temper tantrum; you are the type of military spouse that gives the rest a bad name. If you look at statistics America does not have the best survival rate for children born here so should they fly to to whatever country does so you feel better. Go to a foreign country with your husband while pregnant or get pregnant there was all your choice. The military is supporting you but it appears not as the queen you expect to be.

It was a choice you made to accept accompanied orders, and it was a choice you made to get pregnant. The military is under no obligation to coddle you for your choices. If your local base's medical facility doesn't support labor and delivery, then you have to decide which is the best option for you.
at least three people I know delivered babies while in a foreign country and their spouse was deployed. In fact, one woman did hit with three children under 10 already.
This is where you count on friends and the command to help you out. our wardroom did exactly that.. helped her out with the move( they were moving into base housing at the same time as well) and got her to all her appointments, had emergency care providers set up to take the kids the minute she went into labor.. the whole nine yards.

Ouch!!!! Why, why, why are you in the Middle East?
I understand your husband is there, but don't you think it's not the ideal place to raise a family?
Goodness gracious, I don't know what to tell you except take your children and leave. Can you deliver in Europe somewhere at one of the military bases there? Can your husband get re-assigned?
I WOULD NOT leave my children with a foreign nanny....no way! I am praying for you....truly I am.
How far along are you?

The military doesn't even support its wounded veterans, so it's not suprising. I was in a similar situation as being pregnant and overseas. I ended up space-a-ing back to the states and southwesting it to where i needed to go once my pregnant self and 3 + 6 yr. old landed state side....I was confused b.c. I was told that tricare prime wouldn't pay for my birth out of the area where we were command sponsored. at some point during my pregnancy that rule supposedly changed. It sucks that the military won't even pay for the flight (unless someone erods/early return of dependent themselves) back to the states for a mil. spouse to give birth where they have the support they need, and it was even more ridiculous that tricare imposed that law. strangely before that "rule" was passed, I had no probs. switching my info. in deers and tricare from there. Space-a isn't that bad if you still have time in your pregnancy to fly. try the charter flight patriot express plane to baltimore (it goes directly into the civ. bwi airport, and from there u can get discount tix via southwest to where u need to go if southwest flies there. when u get closer to the date u know u will most likely be flying, i know southwest has mil. 24 hr. advance specials).

From another of your questions, I saw that you're in Turkey. The information for Incirlik AB says that they send women to Germany for childbirth. That isn't unusual; when I was stationed overseas, quite a few of the spouses selected that option over local facilities, and most of them enjoyed the experience.
This, like many other challenges and hardships, is what you adapt to when you decide to go overseas.

well lets see.....does Walter Reed mean anything to you?
how bout underfunding VA mental-health care for returning vets??
how bout not guarding the ammo depots after overthrowing a sovereign nation. Most of the IED's were made with those ordnance's that were looted from the unguarded depots!
how bout the Marine Commandant in Anbar Province begging for up armored vehicles 'til he was blue in the face? They weren't purchased 'til the Democrats in congress shamed the pentagon into providing them.....
shall I go on???
It seems the Ruling Elite could give a crap about the cannon fodder!! just follow the links....
have you noticed that its ok for the rest of you to put yourself in harms way but not their precious kids?
Mitt Romney has 5 strapping boys and not a one of them is serving...Hmmmmmmmm??
shall I go on???

I can appreciate you staying with your man & supporting him, but that is no place for an US Citizen who is female, & children!
Come home, & be taken care of properly with your family around you, & hold vigil over here for your man & his buddies.
