I prefer that they are competent in what they are doing and don't really care what religion they subscribe to.

You can state your diet preference when you go into a hospital. As well as your religious preference- if you choose to disclose it. If there's a medical reason why you are being fed certain things, I'd say you need to speak up and be more communicative with your doctor so he knows your concerns.
They aren't mind-readers, and need to hear from you about everything that influences your care. I'm LDS, and one of the best doctors I ever went to was Seventh Day Adventist, and before my surgery, he asked if we could pray - I was truly grateful for that, and knew that I was in good hands. I have no trouble with professionals who believe - and who practice what they believe; my problems are with those who don't believe in anything in particular, or who are lazy about showing it.

I would prefer that the professionals I depend on would have no religious beliefs at all, and that way I wouldn't have to worry about any ignorance or prejudice sneaking into a decision. I.E., I'd hate for an Evangelical to keep me on life support forever, or a Muslim to be hating on me.

If i talk with my lawyer it costs money.
If I talk with my therapist there my money goes again.
My doctor sees me for a total of 11 minutes why would i waste that time. so I am in yahoo wasting everybody else's time, without paying for it.

Do you mean like the pharmacist that decided by virtue of his religious beliefs not to sell birth control pills - give me an atheist. I don't want someones holier than thou's virtuous self proclaimed faith ideals placed on me or anyone else.

I don't know what the outcome of the pharmacist was but I certainly hope whoever it was was fired, he or she was not doing their job.

I prefer to have nothing at all to do with any of the above and when I do I would prefer not to have any knowledge of their beliefs or for them to have any knowledge of mine

As an Agnostic lawyer, I've found people are more concerned with my ability to help than my theological/ philosophical underpinnings...
