I'm a Mormon/LDS.
Some things that really bother me are that some people still think Mormons are polygamists because we are NOT. We haven't been for over a hundred years.
And people have told me that Mormons are pedophiles who marry children off at 15. WHICH IS NOT TRUE! It is the FLDS (Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints) who are polygamists and get married young-- NOT THE MORMONS! Warren Jeffs (if any of you remember that fiasco from last year), the one who married a girl at fifteen to a much older man, was NOT a Mormon... he was FLDS. The FLDS is a COMPLETELY separate Church from us, we are not affiliated at all.
And then people tell me I'm not a Christian because I'm Mormon... well people, I believe in the Bible, I believe Jesus is the Savior, I believe we are saved by Him, I believe he will come again, I believe he is the Son of God... how is that not Christian???

Now don`t get me wrong here, this isn`t an attack on christians, everybody`s entitled to an opinion after all...but....very few of them seem to realise that their bible has been made to order from a far vaster source of material for example...."could YOU pick up a pint of milk while you ARE out ANd take that AR*E of a dog with you."...see what i mean?Whole texts, particularly the gnostic ones, have been ignored, discarded and ridiculed simply because the higher echelon of the church decided they were unsuitable.Soooo i would have to say that the gnostic gospels are the most miunderstood part of christianity.Hmmm..oh yeah!...and bubba says "elep*ant co*k".........

The name Hinduism
Truly speaking every one in this world who is a seeker of truth and interested in knowing truth in an objective and detached manner is a Hindu, whether he believes in God or not, whether he is a Hindu or a Buddhist or belongs to some other faith. A Hindu is an individual soul who has been separated from God, is under illusion and has been in the process of rejoining God some day. No one need force him to become a Hindu in the physical sense, because one day, in some birth, he will become aware of what he is or who he is. What he does in between is all part of a Divine Play.

That people think Buddhist worship the Buddha and think he's god. The Buddha taught that achieving Nirvana was something one did by virtuous acts and without the assistance of any God, so God is not an issue in Buddhism. Because of this, Buddhism is often used as a "companion" religion to Christianity and other religions with similar ideologies, like love thy neighbor (but not thy neighbor's wife), equanimity, truthfulness, etc. The Buddha got to spend 50 more years on Earth than Christ did, so he had time to tell us not just what to do, but how to do it and why we should do it, he was able to sort of connect all the dots together.

Not all Christians are the same. There are bible-thumin' fundies, and people who simply show up at church to get coffee and cookies after the service, and there are zillions of different kinds of people in between those extremes.
Unfortunately, when people think of "christians" they think of the fundies only.

I am a Christian. Most non-believers choose not to believe in God, because they don't understand that BELIEVING in Jesus and having faith in Him, is the exact key to being a Christian. They expect to know God, or for God to show them some kind of sign that he exists.
God has already shown plenty of signs that he exists...just look at all the creations in the world. The human body is too complicated and brilliant to have not been created by someONE. FAITH is the key....only then can you KNOW God and have a relationship with Him. Seeing, is NOT believing. Believe...then you will see. Hope that helps.

Im a Christian and people think that we just believe in God. No. However, we do believe in God, BUT we also believe that Jesus is the son of God and that jesus was crucified and killed and then rose three days later. That's what a Christian is. And Christian is its own religion too. Whenever people ask me what my religion is and i say "Christian" everyone is like what kind? Catholic or Luthern? and im like no, Christian! it IS its own religion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that the Jews Killed Jesus or that the romans Killed Jesus . It was my fault for he sacrificed his life for me and all those that would believe on his name. If Jesus didn't want to sacrifice himself he could have had ten thousand angels protect him from harm. But he chose to sacrifice himself . He who was without sin unlike us.
