Hi, I'm asking a US visa for presenting a paper in a conference organized in US in March 08, Which type of visa should I ask for?

B1/B2 visa

Conference Visa

B1/B2 - you'll be using the B1 part. That's for business-related activities, even if you won't be earning money. There are other specialized visas, such as for religious or media people, but without further info, I'd say the B1 is best for you.

B1 Visa, Generally they issue B1/B2 Visa for this purpose.
B1 for business like conference, meetings etc and B2 for pleasure.
Go to vfs-usa.co.in and fill DS156, DS157 form for applying B1/B2 Visa.

Since you aren't doing work here (i.e. earning money) and you will only be there a few days you can come on a tourist visa.
