It happens a lot AND is seriously wrong. That said, it does not happen in the majority of families. Your dad has serious problems and needs to get his sorry butt in to see a counselor about this. He is a coward to act like that. That said, you can't make him do it. I grew up in the same environment. In fact, sometimes his fist was not just a threat. The key is to separate yourself from these actions. It is NOT right. If you still live there, do what you have to do to get through. Get help from teachers, friends, family, and counselors. If you are grown up now, make sure you do not make the same mistakes. You'll destroy your life and the lives of those who love you. If necessary, get professional help! Good luck!

good - you have have been given a physician on your side. it would desire to no longer harm the two to get the approval of a nutritionist. Being vegetarian is somewhat healthy in case you feed your newborn responsibly, so do no longer enable him scare you. in case you lay out all the learn approximately healthy vegetarianism and get some professionals backing you up, you have a darn good case for your self. to no longer point out which you are the only elevating your daughter, no longer him. the reason I say to do your homework and notice a nutritionist isn't that i think of you do no longer understand what you're doing. it fairly is as a results of fact the style of super form of human beings in our society are in basic terms stupid approximately nutrition and think of meat is the only source of protein. So print off some pages from the ADA's website approximately vegetarian nutrition, fill your place up with beans, chickpeas, end result, vegetables, lentils, nuts, seeds, and eggs and dairy in case you consume them. save your place stocked in any respect cases so if he easily does pull something, you don't get inspected the day in the previous you bypass grocery buying. Then tell him to do his worst. heavily, what a jerk. Vegetarianism isn't abuse. I want i might been raised veg.

Yes, I believe it happens a lot. More than it should and more than people realize. It's not good to grow up in an environment like that. The best thing you can do is to not pass it on to your kids.

That’s how I was brought up, you toed the line or you got swore at or threatened with a good beating. Is that the right way to parent a child, in my opinion no it isn’t. I have a 12-year-old now and have never whacked her or swore at her.

This is wrong. Many parents believe in spanking, but that means one or two cracks on the butt when needed. This is much worse.

so what is new?? I think every parent does that. How did you turn out??? Do you have kids yet? It can be frustrating at times. Swearing isn't necessary but sometimes kids just push you to it.
