Continuity. Children age and the producers were worried you would recognize them by the end of the season.

Foxworthy wears the same stuff every episode too... Maybe it is some Scooby-Doo thing. I would have gotten away with too, if it wasn't for you pesky kids and your stupid host.

Geno and Sunshine are right...multiple episodes of "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" are taped at one time (this is called "block-taping",which has been standard practice for game shows since "What's My Line?" entered first-run syndication in 1968).

I believe, like Geno, that a number of episodes are filmed on the same day and are televised later. By the way, I love that show and Jeff Foxworthy is really great as the host.

I think a lot of the game show episodes are shot on the same day and are just aired different weeks.

Many game shows film several episodes on the same day to save on production costs. I would assume this is one of them. If you watch, you will see this occur in other game shows as well.
