I have 5 brothers, I watch them very closely, and I pick up on a lot of their behavior. I think there are a ton of different factors, but I think the biggest has to definitely be peer pressure. Guys really do want to show their emotions, because my brother, who'll be 16 in a couple of weeks, tells me all the time how special his girlfriend is to him, and how he thinks he may love her, but yet, he's never told her that. Of course, I'm very close to my brother, but still. My brother, Aden, is I guess one of the 'cool kids', idk. His friends treat girls like objects, now my brother doesn't but, he doesn't go out of his way to make her feel special either, even though he feels differently. He wants to fit in with his football tough guy friends. On the other hand, my brother who's almost 14, Ryan, treats his girlfriend very differently. He's not afraid to compliment her, or tell her she's special every once in a while. It kind of depends on the guy, and the situation, and their own individual communication skills. This is just what I've picked up, I'm no expert or anything. ♥

I don't know. I don't cry as often as I feel I should when someone dies, but I do let myself go whenever I feel the need. It just sucks, because men are to be strong leaders who have everything under control, and when let emotion show some of them feel like they are letting it get out of control. I'm not afraid to show emotion, because it hurts really bad to hold it in, like trying to hold in a sneeze only much, much worse. Crying is healthy for you too, just like laughing, though hopefully you do a lot more laughing than crying. Kinda funny huh, how crying is viewed as a shameful lack of control for some men when uncontrollable laughter is not...or is it?

Have you ever met someone who says, "I'm going to raise my son to show his emotions and cry!"? No. Men are raised to keep their emotions inside and not display them externally. What would you think if you saw a guy start to cry because his hair didn't lay right? They'd get a bad rep for sure.
Be thankful that he can be strong for you and know that he can cry if he has to.

That's the way Nature designed them...men are designed to be tougher, less emotional, and more logical. Women are designed to be more emotional and nurturing. There's nothing wrong with either, and some women aren't real emotional and some guys are...
Some guys are raised it's unkewl to show their emotions so even if they want to, they fear being ridiculed...some just aren't the cryin' type regardless.
