But I don't know why he would lie about it.
He claims they have been together for a tad over a month. He and I split up 2 months ago. He said it is something that he never expected....and he never expected to ever date her. Apparently she is someone that he has known for a very long time, and that she called him up one day out of the blue and asked him to dinner. He went as a friend, and then she told him how much she has cared about him over all the years...and now they are together. I asked if he is in love and he said "Honestly, yea. It is relaly weird how it worked out. It's long and complicated, I will tell you about it some other time"
He then went on to tell me that I can call him anytime I want to, email him anytime I want to. I told him that is not a good idea since he has a girlfrend, and he said "sure you can. we are always going to be a part of eachothers life."
if he is so in love, why is he stringing me along. He knows I love him still. Does he have a gf or not?

Whether he has a girlfriend or not is not the point. He maybe does but just wants to keep you on the back burner if it doesn't work out with her. Forget about him. You're worth more than that. Never be second choice for anybody. Also, it's never a great idea to "be friends" when you already have a history.

This is exactly what men want you to believe...Men 101. SHOW NO INTEREST and women will want you more. In fact, some men go as far as saying they are married with kids..Women for some peculiar reason are drawn by this...so walk away and find someone who is not playing games.

Girlfriend or not, it is obvious what he means: he doesn't love you. He just wants the benefits. Time to dump him, stop talking to him, cut off contact, and move on with your life.

Maybe he wants to be...FRIENDS.Its not illegal to have freinds and a girlfriend. Also, he telling you to call him whenever so you dont feel left out. He sounds like a good freind to you, for what I can tell.
