I am making a pork roast for dinner- with a south american flair, put garlic in slits all over then rubbed with goya brand sofrito before putting in oven. What should I have on the side? I usually do some sort of apples and/or sweet potatoes with pork, but does not seem to fit with the spanish flavors- help!

i do not learn about pork roast in gravy. yet chicken fried steak (or chicken) and gravy is a southern nutrition. Corn on the cob, fried okra, black eyed peas, biscuits, fried eco-friendly tomatoes, eco-friendly beans, mashed potatoes, and baked beans are all aspects that would want to flow with it. Dessert would properly be apple pie, banana pudding, peach or blackberry cobbler, or pecan pie. And if you're going to make a Southern meal you'll have sweet tea to drink.

A south american rice & beans would be nice. You can do a homemade one, or buy a boxed mix (goya has some good ones).

Serve with a green salad.

I always have my Pernil Arroz con gandules with candied yams, pastales, and this year I will have creamed spinach. I would never have Pernil without sweet potatoes or candied yams. Its a must!
