Is it still legal to crop dogs in the US?

If you are looking for a show potential then depending on area of the country you are in you are looking at $800 to $2000 for a harlequin.
You most certainly can show an uncropped Dane. Many have already obtained their championship. I am currently showing an uncropped boy and he is doing very well in the ring.
Yes it is still legal to have dogs cropped in the US, however it is getting harder and harder to find a vet that will do cropping even among those that stil ldo cropping it is even harder to find one that does a good job.
The parent club for the Great Dane is The Great Dane Club Of America check out their website for some really good info on Danes and to find reputable Dane breeders.

You can only show cropped here in the US. And yes it is still legal to crop. Canada and GB no longer crop. If you are looking for a pet quality, try the National Great Dane rescue. If you are looking for show quality from a reputable breeder, try the National Great Dane Club, they should have a link through the AKC homepage. Good Luck

Although it is not illegal i know its hard to find a good vet to crop. And that ones around here charge $3000 to do it! You can so uncropped in the AKC in the US, but its harder to win. I would look into dane rescue for a dog...they usually have ones of all ages, and colors.

I've seen them advertised from $800 to $1000. Pretty expensive. Not sure about the cropping showing question.

You can show uncropped dogs but probably wont win unless the dog is otherwise completely flawless, and even then its tough to finish an uncropped dog.
Its legal to crop dogs in the US.
Prices aroudn 1200+ are typical

Yes it's legal, but both ways are acceptable. I've seem the prices up in the thousands....

It's not illegal to crop ears in the US.
