I am an atheist. I do not believe in god or jesus
I try to be a good person and be nice to others
Is it really fair that some "god" would send me to hell forever just for not thinking the "right" way.
So either there's no hell, or god isn't fair.
For those who would answer, "You had the choice to accept jesus..." is that a fair choice, "Believe what you've been told or burn?"
This god person doesn't sound very fair at all.
Please don't tell me that I deserve hell because some chick got some bad advice from a talking snake and ate from a magical tree.

I do not believe in god. I am not scared of going to hell. I am trying to point out how stupid this concept really is.
And thanks for not ANSWERING my question.
It appears that I am doomed to hell for not being perfect, how fair is that?

I love how you asked such a simple question, and not one Christian could give a logical response.
It's irritating how religion uses fear as means of control. I think it's wonderful living life without the fear of "burning in hell." I completely agree with you.

I don’t want to get into a Theological discussion but I remember my Jesuit Prof. Saying that God “allowed free will” and is since fighting the evil in the World. “Hell” is home to evil. It is debatable where an Atheist ends up, but it is certain he won’t “enter the Lord’s Kingdom”. As he doesn’t believe anyway, he won’t miss what he doesn’t believes in. God is not a “psycho-sadist-megalomaniac”, but he would be if he had created this “evil”, which he didn’t. He is the unwitting victim of his own generosity in allowing “free will” and his Son Jesus, with Mother Mary and the other Saints are all his and our allies in our daily battle against evil. Don’t take the Bible literally and follow my Jesuit father’s advice: “Put everything in doubt and overcome the doubt with your Faith”. Being an Atheist must be awfully lonely when you are suffering or in trouble.
ps I firmly believe in Free Will and defend everybody's right not to believe, but I am also convinced in the existence of “a Great Architect”, which we believers call God.

Oh my gosh I can't believe the answers you are getting.
Ok well here are my thoughts maybe that will help you out somewhat.
First of all, I don't really believe there is a god out there that would let children suffer and let bad things happen to good people. I also don't believe you will burn in hell with people like Hitler and Bin laden just because you didn't believe something you have never seen. The bible says that God loves all his children...meaning us. So why would he banish you to a place of unimaginable pain and suffering?
I myself have lived a good life so far, I have never broken any of the "7 deadly sins" My mom will tell you that the worst thing I have done is take her car out and not call or show up home until like 3 in the morning, I was only about 17.
Also, you notice that Jesus is a white guy with blue eyes? Thought he was a Hebrew? Then shouldn't he have olive skin and brown eyes? ehh? EHH?
When it comes down to it, just be a good person and I highly doubt you will burn in the eternal fires of hell.
Don't listen to what the other people are telling you, its hard to believe in something you have never seen, herd, touched or have any real proof of.
Have a great day

I agree that the Christian concept of Salvation is irrational, illogical, and unfair. That is why I am not Christian. However, I disagree with your conclusion;
"Either there is NO god at all, or he's a psycho-sadist megalomaniac"
There is another option. There are many Gods. This particular one is a psycho-sadist megalomaniac. Other Gods are much fairer, and far saner.
Look into different alternative religions, and world religions. Don't write all religions off just because a few of them have some bad ideas.

I don't believe you will burn in hell. I think your version of the Christian faith is pretty straight forward. No one can honestly love a god that says love me or burn for eternity in hell, that does not inspire love it inspires fear. Honestly, any god that has to have a human sacrafice so people don't burn in hell also has issues. That god is not a god of love. Any parent knows you don't punish or discipline your child forever. Any way I am a Christian and I believe there is a God, but I know longer believe in that god that burns and tortures people.

Not to be disrespectful but if your really are an atheist then why concern yourself with hell? If you don't believe in God then hell wouldn't exist for you. There is no such thing as burning and there is no need to get upset over others who think differently. After all, a good person who is nice to others would allow others to have their opinion and you can enjoy you own. No problem.

You will NOT burn in hell for being an athiest. This is coming from a christian, The bible says that the wages sin pays is death. (Romans 6:23) So if you do wrong, you die and simply rot in the grown. The bible also says that there will be a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous. (Acts 24:15) So you may get resurrected if you didn''t live an EVIL life. After the resurection you have a chance to accept god or not. If you don't, there is still no eternal torment. you simply die again and thus fall out of existance. The ones that Choose god after resurrection get to live in paradise.......................There are alot of religious NUTS. you can't believe everything you hear. You need to look into the bible to see if the things people are saying is REALLY in the bible. You also shouldn't judge all christians because of the ignorant christians that don't know what they are talking about, and only believe because their parents told them to.

Look if you don't believe there is a God then why would you believe there is a hell or a heaven for that fact. Don't worry about it, but I sure wouldn't want to be the one in your shoes come the day. I would however continue to try to be a good person, help others and be kind to children and animals. Don't do any of the things you know you shouldn't. My God would look at your track record before turning you away because he is a good and fair God. Happy Holidays and yes, Merry Christmas

we all deserve to go to hell even christians. the bible says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of god." it also says "no one comes unto the father except through me" so yes you do have a choice and if you want to go to heaven get saved if you dont then dont. but this is they way i look at it. would you rather spend 65-70 years on this earth doing as you please and take that chance of dying and standing at judgement going OMG there is a hell? that wouldnt exactly be the most opportune time to figure that out. once your dead its done no begging to God for a second chance. you can pick a part the bible all you want and criticize it. thats your choice. all religions no matter what you are require faith. so if you dont want to believe then you wont. i would also suggest reading the whole bible and then ask questions. and if even then you decide you dont believe then so be it. but if you need help understanding something just ask. i'll help. and ploease dont take this response as me being ignorrant or a smart aleic thats not my intention. just trying to help
