Be confident. You need to believe in yourself! If you want to diet, and you know that it will make you feel better, then you need confidence. Otherwise, the temptation to cheat on your diet will make it harder, and you will not feel better when you do lose weight. Avoid temptations like chocolate, ice cream, and cookies. They may taste good, but there are other foods that taste delicious, too, without being unhealthy. You need to always encourage yourself to achieve the goals that you have set. Learn to evaluate your efforts fairly and objectively. If you fail to achieve your target for the week, find out why is it so. Is it because you have missed an exercise session? Or you have been eating junk food for one of the days? After evaluating, look ahead to next week and try your best to stick to your plan.

What Do Laxatives Do

2016-12-16 10:02:38 · answer #5 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

By swelling up within your intestines, bulk-forming laxatives soften and increase the volume of your stools. This then encourages your bowels to move and push the stools out. The full effect of this type of laxative can take a few days to occur.

Stimulant laxatives work by speeding up the movements of the intestines. They take 8-12 hours to work. Osmotic laxatives work by reducing the amount of water absorbed from the bowel and so increasing the amount of water in your stools. This makes them softer and easier to pass.

It depends upon the laxative. Some a chemical some are ground up trees for bulk. Your best bet is to take a few thousand miligrams of vit c. It will clean you out.

it does break up the food for you but it also tells your intestines to stop working and let it all out!

Instead of laxative try to improve the digestive tracks.

Googled digestive enzyme, it will give you a lot of information and help keep you in good healthy condition.

Laxatives stimulate your muscles to induce a BM. I believe they use some kind of steroid. Stool softeners just soften the BM inside of you to make it easier to pass.

There are two types:
One irritates the bowel, increasing peristaltic action.
One simply furnishes bulk for peristaltic action to
work upon.
Neither 'helps break up food`.

There are several mechanisms of action, depending on which laxative you use. Here is more information about it:
