well it didn't exactly fly - pulled in front of me, I noticed sticker on the back "Please drive carefully - children on board". Now this mother was well over speed limit, driving with one hand cos she was talking on her mobile with one child in the car. My question is - Do I have to drive carefully to subsidise her carelessness or should her sticker have read something else? What do you think it should have read?
Sorry about long question but couldn't think how to word this best.

Gemby - if everybody lets everything go then not only the morons but also the non morons get killed too, - my point was don't ask people to drive carefully then risk your child's life because you can't put the damn mobile down!

I probably also should add for the people who may think her actions were none of my business - you may well be correct - I'm not in an argumentative mood - it was the IRONY of the situation versus the sticker in her car that I was commenting on - and also asking for more appropriate stickers.

Frustrating isn't it? Of course you should drive carefully, I wish you were a Police Officer who could have pulled her over, but such is life.....Perhaps her sticker should have read- "Beware -Moronic Mother at wheel"

Here is the sad part this person doesn't think she was driving wrong. I see these people everyday as a Police Officer. They get stopped and say, "was I really driving that bad"? As we all know there are somethings people get by with and some they don't. These are the ones that eventually end up hurting someone we love.
The sticker should read, "Its all about me not you so get out of my way".
As a concerned citizen you could write down the license plate number and call the local police. This helps sometimes.

It should read: Beware of soccer mom driving this car because 1: I am on the phone making playdates for my spoiled kids. 2: (while on phone) I am reaching in the back seat to give snack to extremely overweight kid. 3: (While on phone AND reaching into backseat) I am also referreing a fight between my two brats. 4: (while on phone and giving snacks and referring fights) I am also speeding because I had to allow my daughter to change her outfit 15 times and am late for the playdate.

All this would cover the back window but that is ok because I never use the mirrors anyway except to put makeup on whild doing all of the above!

Sadly, nothing you say will help. People like this are the kind who appear on TV, crying and slinging snot if something happens to their precious child, or who think the government should 'assist' them more in child rearing (read provide free daycare, or if you really want to help, let them stay home on full salary until the kid leaves school) There is no help for these people. Just pray they figure it out before something desperate happens.

Approach with caution - idiot at the wheel.

It makes no difference what the reason for driving like that. one of the above answerers said child may be bleeding or mother in hospital, but that is still no excuse. not only was she endangering the life of her child, but also the lives of those who could have been caught up in a collision due to her irresponsibility.

I see them every day - bunch of muppets behind the wheel, either on the phone or putting make up on.

The weather won't stop them either, ice on the road and they still drive like morons!
