"According to the Mormon church, Lucifer fomented the revolution after volunteering to take Jesus' place as God's emissary to humanity, stating that he believed that mortals should have their free will revoked, and thus be guaranteed entry into Heaven."

Where did the first batch of souls go before the great war on Heaven? Lucifer was ticked because worshipping mankind he considered to be an unlawful act against G-d by whorshipping a "false idol". And also, that the angels were in fact better than man, being born first. None the less, i can agree with him on the sibling rivilry part. Why would a first born ever bow down to the second born?

Anyway, so Lucifer is debating with G-d and the other aangels about how they shouldn't have free will, so they can get strait into Heaven. Well before Lucifer was cast out, and given Hell, where did the immoral human souls go? Was Hell run by someone else in the beginning? Or were they punished through reincarnation? Or forced to wander forever

Jesus was the first born. Lucifer's plan was to obtain the glory for himself. Jesus wanted to follow Father's plan and to give Him the glory. Lucifer and his followers were cast out, but to earth, not hell. They will never receive a body.

OH boy...Maybe I should tell you a few things. You see, Lucifer didn't give a care what happened with humans. You see, he was tempted to be Higher than the High. What was the real problem was that no one tempted him for that. God gives us free will because life cannot be easy. We must go through the trials that all, including the former Lucifer, went through. If we didn't have free will, we wouldn't be human. We wouldn't be a creation of that God intended. We wouldn't have souls. Now, for the Hell question, God made that for Satin and his angels. But man, who revoked God, became possible residents for the Faithless. OH! and God gave Satin Dominion over Hell. It was punishment for trying to rule heaven, so the big guy gave Satin Hell, a horrible twisted mirrored version of Heaven. I hoped I helped. Feliz Navidad!

Hell is more symbolic than an actual place. The Greek name hades means the grave. Gehenna or the lake of fire is symbolic of the Jerusalem incinerator during Jesus's time.

As to where Lucifer & his demons went, they fell from heaven and came to earth to tempt mankind and to try to thwart God's plan of redemption.

The spirits who decided to follow Satan's plan were cast into the outer darkness. If I tried to explain further it wouldn't make much sense, but please visit www.mormon.org it is an official website of the LDS church. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me.
