I answered my wifes phone last night whilst she was asleep, and, being a little tipsy, went into a text conversation with the girl my wife knows.
That girl is now an 'escort' and I stupidly asked about ''mates rates'' for a laugh.
I now am the proud possessor of 3 rude pics and a hotel invite.
If I tell this woman I was only joking, what will she say to my wife?
What can I do?

Hi, tell your wife exactly what happened, (I actually would think it was pretty funny) you were a bit drunk at the time, and also your wife must be liberal if she has a friend that is an escort, best to get it out in open now, in case her mate tries to use it against you at a later date.

I would say back out politely but clearly and say no more about it.
If she is a genuine escort, she is (1) expecting to be paid - she's just advertising for a commercial service - and (2) professional enough not to feck your life over.
If she was only mucking about, then at a stretch she might misbehave, and make your life difficult, in which case you just state the truth as clearly as you have here.
You've done nothing wrong. Making a big deal of something that right now isn't one would be counterproductive.

Are you stupid? No really ask yourself if you are or not.
Ditch the pics and tell your wife the truth. Explain that you are not mature enough to drink and chat with women at the same time. Also let her know, that odds are good if your let out in public while drinking, you will come home with a new STD just for her.
A once of common sence goes a rather long way.

Tell your wife the truth as soon as possible and as in a light way as in "Good grief (for want of a better expletive here) can you believe this one?" She should know her friend and if she doesn't she will now. Also make a mental note to be more careful another time. Repeat ---Tell Her The Truth ----

She's got the evidence to have you by the balls my man! Your best bet is to come clean with your wife about it, ASAP, before her friend gives her a side of the story that will not make yours look so convincing.
