Unexplained bruises that occur easily or for no apparent reason may indicate a bleeding disorder, especially if the bruising is accompanied by frequent nosebleeds or bleeding gums. See your doctor!

Most bruises form when small blood vessels (capillaries) near your skin's surface are broken by the impact of a blow or injury. When this happens, blood leaks out of the vessels and initially appears as a bluish-black mark. Eventually your body reabsorbs the blood and the mark disappears. Some people — especially women — are more prone to bruising than are others. As you get older, several factors may contribute to increased bruising, including: Aging capillaries. Over time, the tissues supporting these vessels weaken, and capillary walls become more fragile and prone to rupture. Thinning skin. With age, your skin becomes thinner and loses some of the protective fatty layer that helps cushion your blood vessels against injury. Excessive exposure to the sun can affect your skin much like aging does. Generally, the harder the blow, the larger the bruise. However, if you bruise easily, a minor bump — one you may not even notice — can result in substantial discoloration. Your arms and legs are typical locations for bruises.

There is a condition called ITP, or Immune Thrombocytopenia Purpura.
This is not a virus or contagious, it is when your body attacks itself and destroys your platelets, which is the part of your blood that makes it clot.
You get bruises and little red dots like freckles called petechiae as the capillaries in your skin bleed. You can also get nose bleeds and bleeding gums.
Go to the doctor and have him check you out! You need a blood test. There are many treatments.

Sounds like ITP -idiopathic thrombocytopenia
Its a condition where the platelets are below normal which makes it difficult for ur blood to clot.
Shana already mentioned the rest on top.
Go to the doc asap. It can lead to complications.
IF thats not a prob then its highly likely that U have VIT K def .
Good luck

There are many bleeding disorders that can cause bruising as well as vitamin deficiencies. You need to make an appt right away with your Dr. Even taking some medications can cause this. Are you taking a lot of aspirin or anti-inflammatories? (like arthrits drugs)

Have your Doctor check your platelet count, if bruise like this it is usually your platelet. If it is your Platelet and you become a bleeder if you don't get it up to the count it should be. I had to take 12 paks of platelet by inter vein drip Because my Doctor gave me Sulpher drugs for a kidney infection , I almost died until he found out by blood test with another Internist that I was allergic to the sulpher drugs. Get it checked. I had a dog that stayed in yard all the time and ate acorns and her nose started bleeding she couldn't breath and the vet was 2 days finding out it was her platelet count. This platelet count is very dangerous and if you would happen to get a bad cut you could bleed to death if it is low platelet.count.

i have the same problem...i have an iron and calcium deficiency and wake up with unexplainable bruises all the time...deficiencies make ur skin and tissues more susceptable to bruising at even the slightest thing because they lack what they need to repair as quickly or something like that
