If you feed your cat a vegetarian diet, it will die.

Cats are obligate carnivores. They need to eat MEAT.

If you are a veg yourself and handling meaty cat food is a problem for you, then surrender the kitten and get a dog instead.

Dogs are also carnivores but they can tolerate vegetarian diets. Cats cannot.

If you want to do this because you think it would be healthier, it's not. It may be great for humans but not for cats.

Your cat isn't picky, she is starving. You cannot feed a cat a vegetarian diet. See littlebigcat.com for more info.

I think you mean well, but cats are carnivores. They are also lactose intollerant. Your cat is in serious, life threatening danger. She needs water right away! The best you can do is look for a chicken based food. There are a lot of organic foods on the market that are fantastic for her health. Consider Evo, Wellness and other similar products from the pet store (not a chain store, your local mom and pop).

Home made food for animals is not going to work if you are not an expert- and you are not, since you thought you could make the cat vegetarian. She needs kitten food.

She should not be a vegetarian nor drinking milk at 3 1/2 months of age. Cats become lactose intolerant shortly after weening and her tummy will start hurting if she keeps drinking milk. If she isn't eating it's not because she is picky it's because you are FEEDING HER THE WRONG THINGS. Cats are carnivores and if you don't start feeding that cat what she is supposed to eat she will experience blindness among other health problems. You should be turned in for animal cruelty.

Cats need taurine & arachnic acid (sp?) which aren't usually found in non-meat sources. It is nearly impossible for a cat, especially one as young as yours, to thrive on a vegetarian diet, even if you can find & afford the supplement called "Vegecat". Since your little one is so picky, chances are she wouldn't even eat it.
I've been vegetarian for several years & once did some research into this, but after a *lot* of reading & consukting with other cat-loving vegetarians I realized that I'd either have to give up sharing my life with cats or reluctantly feeding them the meat-based diet that they need in order to stay healthy. There's no way I'd give up our cats, so they do eat a chicken-based diet & I actually need to hold my breath while feeding them, but this is the only option I can see for our multi-species family @ this time.
BTW, dairy is *not* good for cats, this is a myth, so please don't give your little one milk or other dairy products.
Best of luck with your kitten.

CATS NEED TO EAT SOME KIND OF MEAT. THERE IS SOME COMPONENT OF MEAT THEY NEED OR THEY CAN GO BLIND. FEED HER SOME SORT OF COOKED MEAT, OR KITTEN FOOD WITH A MEAT PRODUCT IN IT, PREFERABLY THE FIRST INGREDENT IN THE CAT FOOD INGREDENT LIST ON THE LABEL. KEEP FEEDING THE EGGS, CHEESE, COTTAGE CHEESE, YOGURT, ANY DAIRY PRODUCTS BUT WATCH THE CALORIE COUNT). SOME
CATS ARE OR BECOME LACTOSE INTOLERENT WHEN ADULTS.

GET A GOOD CAT NUTRICAN BOOK, CALL YOUR VET, OR CALL YOUR FAVORITE CAT FOOD COMPANY (PHONE NUMBER IS USUALLY ON THE LABEL) FOR FURTHER INFORMATION. ALSO CHECK THIS OUT ON THE WEB UNDER "CAT FOOD". THERE ARE MANY WEB SITES THAT DEAL WITH THIS SUBJECT.

Ok where did we lose you cats do not eat veggies unless it is in the stomach of their pray. So feeding your cat a vegetarian diet is very unhealthy for it.

Do not feed cats cow milk. Cats are lactose intollerant and this will cause stomach problems.

You are better off finding a high quality cat food. Iams Hills ect...

I have gone to college to study pet nutrition. So this question appals me. If you want to be vegetarian thats fine, humans can go without meat as long as it's supplamented beans. You are malnourishing her. GET HER ONTO KITTEN FOOD. If you can not respect the way cats are supposed to eat, you should not be having one. Cats need taurine to help muscle function and heart function. This can ONLY be found in meat. Cats are carnivorous, and CAN NOT digest milk. youre going to dehydrate her!!

cats are not omnivores like people, they are carnivores. you cannot put your cat on a vegetarian diet and expect it to thrive.

even people who work with PETA feed their animals *gasp* meat. (what a bunch of hypocrites).

anywho, no especially since she is a kitten she needs the minerals vitamins and nutrients that meat, chicken, and fish will provide.

(try petite cusine, its 100% natural fish/shrimp/chicken with no animal by products/wheat gluten/corn/artificial flavors/coloring and my kitten loves it: especially the Chinese Chicken, flavored one. It contains pieces of CARROTS, if you would like your cat to eat some healthy vegetables)

and absolutely NO cat can resist canned tuna fish. start her on some of that and make sure she is also eating hard kitten formula food. you can mix a bit of water in the hard food to soften it up.

No can do. Cat was not designed to live up to *your* way of life as a vegan. Ask any vet.

Oh, and she's being "picky" just to annoy you...
