My early childhood. I was raised during the depression. I remember happy but concerned people who were optimistic about the future and rose to the occasion by helping the more unfortunate and keeping their spirits up by positively doing something about their misfortune; not sitting around wringing their hands in despair or depending on pills to elevate their mood.
