I am not a fan of the Republican party, but from everything that I have heard from the candidates the Republicans are all for a wall, deportation, or at the very least some hoops and obstacles for illegals to have a path to citizenship. The Democrats are all for amnesty and allowing all of these illegals to just become citizens. Will this influence your vote?

For the record, this is my number one issue for the election. My second is the economy. I am more than likely going to vote for the candidate who is going to be tougher on illegal immigration regardless of what party they are with.

Absolutely, it certainly will. I simply CANNOT allow the immigrants to enter this country illegally and sit back and watch it happen.

Yes. The immigration issue is important to me.
However, with many things, it's not only dependent on who the President is (or which party), but also who controls Congress. Any candidate can promise to do whatever, but Congress can make those promises meaningless.
And vice versa. Remember all the campaign promises by the Democratic candidates running for Congress in 2006 about ending the war immediately? Didn't quite work out that way, and now the left-leaning constituents aren't so happy with them.
The point is, you have to vote for candidates at ALL levels of government in order to make a difference. Simply voting for the President is not enough.

Our borders remain open. We asked that the border be fenced on a two-tier system. The Democratic congress decreased the system to one tier, and delayed the idea of a passport! We may never have a passport in place if we continue to allow this.
So we want to be like the Europeans who had a new open border pact just signed? This pact now will allow travel from Portugal to the Arctic Circle without a passport. The Energy Bill was the basis for it!
My spelling may be wrong, but it is called the "Singyen" pact. How will they catch criminals is just one problem with this pact. Are we willing to throw open our borders?
I certainly want what the Bill of Rights and the Constitution assure me of: Security!
"MERRY CHRISTMAS!"

My number 1. issue as well. I will vote for whichever candidate has the strongest policy against illegals, is going to finish the fences, will put more men there, and will stop prosecuting our border gaurds. To me it does not matter about the party, but I think you are right. The Rep. are tougher on this issue.

Most definitely as well as the war in Iraq. But I want someone who puts Americans first and those are hard to come by. So many are just big business puppets and I certainly don't want a preacher or a muslim in our White House. They need to be God fearing and honest but not unable to separate church and state. If Tom Tancredo nominates Romney, I'm going to have to give him a strong second look.

It is my number one issue too! All of the Dimocrat candidates favor amnesty for the 20 to 38 million illegals in our country. Rudi Giuliante, Juan McCaine, and Miguel Shuckabee all favor amnesty for the non-criminal illegal aliens in our country. That's right; Giuliani, McCain, and Huckabee will give amnesty to all but the most violent criminal illegal aliens in our country, if we are foolish enough to elect these cowards!
Thompson and Romney have taken tough stances against illegal immigration, but the only candidates you can trust to stop the invasion, secure our borders, and not give amnesty to the illegal invaders are Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul!

Absolutly. It's 100% for sure no Dems are for securing the border or enforcing our laws. Rep are.....but not all. Research their votes....not what line of bs they dish out now. Some have "flipped" but that just proves to me their word means nothing. Look at what they do....not what they say.

It's my #1 issue! That's the main reason why I don't support McCain. I think he's be a great president but I don't trust him on this illegal alien crisis.

100% yes. Many people I know feel the same way.Once the 2 pres. canidates start debating I think the Dems will be doomed. They won't be able to avoid/flip flop on the issue once the real debates begin.
