By virtue of being canned, the tuna (or any food) is cooked. So sure, you can eat it straight from the can if you want to.
In fact, health-wise, the best way to eat it is without the added fat and calories of mayonnaise or other dressings. I'll make a chef's salad using canned tuna...just a great, big mixture of greens, and whatever other sort of salad veggies I have on hand. Then I'll dump the canned tuna on top of the salad, right in the center (I'll try not to break it up too much). A plain vinaigrette is better (and healthier) than a creamy dressing, but I'll use whatever I have in the fridge.

Yes, straight from the can is okay. The can probably says somewhere on it "fully cooked." (I think so... I haven't actually read a tuna can in a long while. I just know it's fully cooked.)
To make tuna salad, I first drain the water off (I only buy water pack). I like to add a tablespoon or so of light mayonnaise, some lemon pepper, and pickle relish. If you're worried about the mayo, you could use thick yogurt -- you suspend a strainer over a bowl, line it with a coffee filter, and plop it full of plain unflavored yogurt. Let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours, and the watery liquid will drain out of it, thus making it more like mayo in texture.
Enjoy!

When I was a broke college student, I ate tuna right out of the can. Never got sick. It's processed anyway. I mean, you don't have to cook it before making tuna salad anyway. Can't help you with the healthy recipe though, I only know how to make unhealthy tuna salad. :)

I do it all the time. I eat the tuna either in water or olive oil, mostly water. Great for a straight, clean, protein fix. Don't buy the tuna in soy oil! It's absolutely gross! If the can says 'in oil', it's not olive oil but rather soy oil. It says that in the fine print.

Yes. Drain the liquid off. Put in a bowl stir in chopped celery, pickles or pickle relish, I like the sweet kind, and apple and onion and boiled egg. Stir in a little mayo or Miracle whip and eat. I guess you could substitute plain yogurt for the mayo.

It's already cooked. Yes, you can eat it straight out of the can, but I would drain the oil or water from it first.
