Well since we can now establish intent on your part to assault an officer you would be charged with a felony. Now if you just slap him/her you might do a year in the county jail. But if you punch him/her with your fist and cause significant injury to him/her (break jaw type thing)...I'm sure we could get you some feel good time in the joint where someone named bubba will make you the love child of the month.

Swing away!!!

Doesn't matter hand open or not. In Va you would be arrested and charged with a "FELONY" assault on any L.E. personnel is a felony here and it doesn't have to be a malicious wounding, that would be a seperate offense. Just remember even if you got off your slap you would surely be slapped back and probably tazed and sprayed then put in a cage and loose your freedom. So you weigh the stupidity of your actions as well as your question.

This is not going to end with you winning. Give this up. Cops fight every day. They are good at it. They became cops because they like to fight. The cops are always the biggest, toughest street gang in any city. And society backs them up. Why not try to knock down a brick wall with your forehead? You have a greater chance of success.

What the heck kind of question is that?

How would you like it if a cop asked a question - "Should I hit him with my baton in the knee or in the head?"

Geeze...

All the cop haters on this board is pretty sad...

well usually the hospital charges for bandages, aspirin, needles, sutures, x-rays and everthing else they use on you. I am not sure how HIGH your charges would be, but I know if it was me you hit, they would be extensive. intensive care is not cheap.
