My husband proposed to me in the bedroom. We were relaxing together and having a casual conversation (we were dressed, but just lying on the bed and listening to the radio). In the middle of our conversation, he got out of the bed (first, I thought he was leaving the room to get a snack) and got down on one knee (I thought he dropped something). He then pulled out a beautiful ring and said some lovely words about how we discussed when we should get married, and that the time is now. Also, that he knew that I was the one for him and that he wanted me to be his wife. It was a beautiful moment.
He told me that he was going to propose to me later that day after we had dinner and took a romantic stroll on the beach with the stars out, but he couldn't wait.

I am engaged since October. My girlfriend was having a very rough week of work so i told her I wanted to take her to a nice restaurant to help her unwind. We had been there once before and it is gorgous place right on a pretty lake. I dressed up in one of my nicest suits and we had a great dinner. After dinner I told her I would like to go for a walk around the lake. when we got to a gazebo near the waterfall I dropped to one knee, showed her the ring and told her that she was the most wonderful person I had ever met and that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, I then asked her to marry me. Through the tears she said yes and the rest is history.

My husband and I were sitting around his house one evening, talking, laughing, watching TV, and suddenly he said "Wanna get married?" I laughed a bit, but he said "No, I'm very serious. Will you marry me?" I screamed YEEESSS! He got me a ring within the week (he just thought the time was right to ask), we started planning a wedding, found out how expensive it is here even for a little wedding. Then he up and asked one afternoon "How about we just go down to the JP?" I tossed all the wedding planning stuff in the trash and we were married in a week. Still happily married after all these years!

my boyfriend (fiance now) just popped the question last night!
he knew that if he tried to plan anything out of the blue or romantic that wasnt on a holiday or something, that i would figure it out.
we've been talking about it and i am really hard to surprise. so last night when i got home and picked up mcdonalds for dinner (it was snowing all day and cooking didnt seem fun!) we had eaten dinner and were sitting on our bed and we were about to put a movie in and i had turned to the side to grab the movie and he wrapped his body behind mine and told me to close my eyes.
he then pulled the box out of his pocket and opened it in front of me. he told me to open my eyes and he asked me to marry him.
he caught me so off guard and completely surprised me! i had expected it to be that random, and i wouldnt have wanted it any other way. it was perfect, just like him and the ring!
good luck to everyone out there proposing, and being proposed to!

we're the outdoorsy type, so i planned a weekend ofr our families to get together at a mountain house (they all knew i was going to propose this weekend) and i took my fiance on a long hike and proposed at the end, which overlooked a mountain and valley from a rocky cliff. worked out well ;)

My husband had made a fire in the fireplace (he proposed in early February)..had me a nice glass of wine and asked me to sit in my favorite chair...since it was a week or so before Valentines, I had no idea what he was up to....
He began singing singing the song "If" by Bread ("If a picture paints a thousand words, then why can't I paint you?")...(he has a BEAUTIFUL voice by the way)..as he began singing, he slowly sank to one knee...at the end of the song, he asked me to marry him...
VERY romantic....

My husband and i are both Irish and on St. Patricks day of 06 i came home to candles and flowers everywhere in the living room with rose petals on the floor and my husband in a suit down on one knee with a ring and a rose.
It was very sweet and very unexpected, the only thing is that i wouldn't recommend real rose petals on the floor as they do stain. :)
