Does Islam revere women?

Dont judge islam from what muslims do. Always go to the source of the teachings and thats the Quran and see what the Quran says about women rights and compare it with other religions by comparing the books that they claim from God. You are the only one who can find the answer and dont let the media fool you, instead go own the knowledge by studying by yourself.

"Heaven lies at the feet of the Mother". I'd say that's some sincere reverence... also respecting many a woman's rights laid down in the Q'uran and Hadiths. Don't let cultural issues get in the way of understanding true Islam.

islam reveres women. but the problem is a lot of arabic, maghreb, pashtun, persian, etc. cultural traditions that treat women like cattle. outsiders have mistaken these cultural beliefs for islamic beliefs, but they aren't.

however, islam needs to prove its righteousness by erasing many of these backward cultural traditions, such as cliterectomies and burying women under hijabs and multiple wives. until islam stands up for women, then islam is fair game for criticism in how muslim women are treated

and don't fall for the lie that wrapping women like mummies somehow elevates them by keeping them away from sexual objectification. being wrapped head to toe except for eye slits is a prison far worse than sexual objectification

I once got into a fight with this Islamic shuttle bus driver. He tried to overcharge me. I wouldn't hand over the money. So he started screaming at me. He said: "American women should be treated no better than pets!"
The people at my complex overheard that. They came out and kicked his *ss real good.
