Please be hones as to how you were dressed let's say the first time you met your guy that you are now serious with to get married.

Were you dressed to the nines? Or casual grunge or in between?

My dad went to school, and he met my mother on a farm and of course she had the dirtiest clothes on as she was picking potatoes. I guess he didn't care about her appearance, but her work ethic and personality.

Wow! Jeans and t-shirt take the cake. I guess looks and appearance aren't everything. Thanks you all.

I would say more in between. I initially met him in grad school, so I pretty much wore jeans and a nice shirt every day. I wore either wedges or open toed sandals with maybe a 2-3" heel with those outfits (school was in FL). Of course, final exams halted my outfits so I went for comfort. But even then, I was still put together because I wore the track suits w/ tennis shoes or jeans and a t-shirt with the cutier looking flip flops). My hair was always neat and I put on lipgloss/lipstick, mascara, and eyeliner every day (during exams...only lipgloss/lipstick).

We actually didn't date in grad school. I ran into him about a year later in the office building where I worked. I had on a short sleeved v-neck knitted shirt, a flare skirt, and sling-back heels. My hair was neat, and I had on some lipstick, mascara, eye shadow, and eyeliner. That was the day we reconnected and things went from there. We've been married for 2 years.

P.S. You asked what we wore that day so I answered your question. Men are typically visual, so they will notice you and judge you by your appearance first. After that, it's your personality and attitude that determines whether they actually want to be with you.

I was wearing a very old pair of jeans that were torn on the bottom because they were a little too long and had been run over the ground behind my feet for years. I had a t-shirt on with a white sweater-like short-sleeved wrap over it (kinda hard to describe). I was wearing black flip flops. My glasses had a little chip missing because I wasn't able to get an eye doctor's appointment until a week later. It was raining and I had no jacket. My hair was frizzy and wet and I really was a mess. I didn't have makeup on either. He didn't care.

We were meeting up to go to a college basketball game in the winter so I was wearing a sweatshirt with the team on it with a t-shirt with the team logo on it underneath with jeans and tennis shoes (or some other casual shoes). So I was dressed appropriate for the situation which I think matters more than what you're wearing.

BTW we're getting married in just under 3 weeks.

I met my husband for the first time at a state park so I was dressed in a nice pair of jeans and a pretty blouse. We went hiking and then went to a shopping area nearby to walk around. We ended up going out for a late lunch.

Oohhh--I didn't read all the answers, but I certainly have a story...I was wearing a TOWEL. Yes, a towel. I don't normally make a habit of walking around half naked, but I had just gotten out of the shower. My roommate came home with a couple guys from the college basketball team and I came waltzing out of the bathroom, not knowing anyone was home.

I guess it made for a memorable first impression!

I've been married to my man for 12 yrs. It was the 90s and in college. I was wearing blue jeans, a tight black shirt and a flannel over it with doc martins on my feet. It was the "grunge" look.

Well he asked me out while I was in my work uniform (which was horrible I was working at a fast food chain) It was a funky blue pants that didn't fit, and an overly baggy collared shirt, that had to be tucked in and had thick red and blue striped (YUCKY)!!

Know on our first date I wore jeans, cute black no sleeve, v-neck shirt and heels! I had to make up for the first impression!! That was a little over 4 years ago and we will be married in June!!

I was dressed casually smart as is my usual style when we met.
Weh I got off the plane after years to see if things could work I was totally smelly and floppy and hair was a mess. I had just flown half way around the world to see him I had an excuse!

I was casually dressed up because it was New Years Eve and I met him at a bar. It was cold out so I had on a nice sweater and newer jeans. No one dresses up too much around here.

I was actually really gross looking. I was with a girlfriend at a college football game all day long in the extreme Texas heat. Afterwards, we were dehydrated, sweaty, and dirty and we headed out to a bar for a drink. We were sitting outside talking when my now-husband sat down with his friends next to us. We struck up a conversation, and the rest is history!
