God placed us all in this horrible existence of madness and illogical logic. Like clockwork, we all follow the same path to nowhere.
I wonder if we really are in existence and am longing for death to take me to a new place, perhaps a land which isn't so hollow and vain.
Everything has a contradiction, even contradictions have contradictions, I don't understand how they don't cancel each other out.
Life+Death=Zero=Nothingness
Yet, here we are in the land of nothingness, with our make-believe lives and make-believe crowns and kingdoms of sand and stone.
Will you wake me up when it's over?
“I am not unintelligent, you are not unintelligent, I’m akin to the Bible, therefore unintelligible.”- Exousia Skotos

I was going to let everything go and then I hit that remarkable last sentence.
Do you really know that Socrates would have rejected Christianity and if he did (who knows) that this martyr to truth would have your opinion of things !! He was greatly honored in the early Church. Mainly for his martyr's adherence to truth.
He is probably not flattered that you claim him as your drinking buddy.

Philosophers have debated these type of questions for centuries, without a great deal of success, but usually they lived for a long time, which suggests that life has got to have had some things that made it worth sticking around for.
If this is a question between life here and the possibility of life after death, I'll place my bets on this life. I don't know what happens next, and all stories about what may be after death are based on the words of other living men and women. Their views may well be no more informed than anyone else's. They may have got inspiration from divine sources, but we really have no way of telling.
In the meantime, we all have a life here, in which the vast expanse of the planet is available to us to explore. Socrates also said 'the only good is knowledge, the only evil is ignorance'. When I was a teenager I didn't see the point in living, and I guess some days I still don't, but other times I see that the world is amazing, vivid, and life is just too incredible to let go of. Finding knowledge, challenging myself to create new ideas, or learn new things from others, those things feel as good now as they did back in Socrates' days.
I've spent years finding reasons to stay around through this life, and I now feel more real than I ever have done before. Living, creating things, meeting people, and travelling when I can; these things have made the world feel less fake and shallow. When you get the chance, I hope you'll find that too. Believe it or not, it does get easier to live like this as you get older - not everyone stagnates with age!
We have no idea what happens after this life, with so many contradictory ideas of what God is or isn't, so stay here and experience everything that this life has to offer before trying anything else. If in all eternity this is your only chance of experiencing something physical, or even existing, then that's definitely worth doing.

first of all i would again say that i really love the way you ask questions. your question is :
Will you wake me up when it's over?
answer is no! none else can wake you up. you yourself will have to do it. because you are not sleeping, you are just acting as if you are sleeping. in sleep we don't remember that we are sleeping it can only happen when the sleep has broken and you are lying idle because of your laziness.
you have woken up now just break the laziness and you will be able to wake up. come up to consciousness. obtain the enlightenment. this is very easy just open your eyes and get up.
no one else can wake you up.
As Audhha said to Anand his closest disciple
App Dipo Bhava!
become your own lamp in your darkness because in this darkness you are the only one who can be with you or you may say that you are alone.
there for no one else can help you to wake up.
so i would like to say you the same :
App Dipo Bhava!

A rather sad attitude to take I think. So I don't give a f*** about convention is a better way to care for yourself and others. Do what you will and hurt no-one by doing it! Live a good life!
You deserve it!

Hang in there. Your football team might win the Premiership next season - and then the meaning of the Universe will become abundantly clear.

God didn't do it at all.
You are wasting energy fighting against a shadow.
Being angry at God over anything in existence is the same as being angry at Leprechauns because you can't reach the end of the Rainbow.

As far as Socrates goes ?
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Quit thinking of only yourself and get your tail out and help some one else who's a lot worse off than you are. That's meaningful.
