Seriously, how many young girls out there are into ham radio, or electrical engineering? How many girls out there like to walk down to their local university and ask if they can use their computer cluster to try to crack RSA encryption? The only female student when I went to get my electrical engineering degree many years ago had TWO boyfriends. When I go down to the Red Cross and hang out with my ham radio buddies I'm the only person under 55 there. I've never seen a woman anywhere near that building even when we've had to set emergency communications between cities during disasters. I don't understand how my hobbies or interests will help me find a girl. Even the girls at church are all either on drugs or have a kid. It's like they go there to feel better about the horrible lives they live. It's been 15 years since I've had a date. She wouldn't want to have anything to do with me if I did walked into to her.

These might be your hobbies that you are actively involved in, but isn't there anything else you like, something a little more chick friendly? I would probably meet you at the engineering things or ham radio stuff, but I found I am a rare species of girl lol... I am sure there is something you've maybe wanted to try that more girls are interested in...

Why do they tell you that? Because sometimes people give out bad advice!

Then again, you might want to ask if your hobbies are really ones that are likely to make you an appealing date. Maybe you should try something that has more of a cross-gender appeal, such as a reading club, ball room dancing, camping, or hiking.

There's another saying, and one which does seem to be true, that the minute you stop trying to find someone, along they come. Maybe you're trying too hard with the women you meet. Stop thinking about whether they would date you, and start just trying to be friends with more people (male and female).

There are 3 female electrical engineers in my company. There are also 2 female civil engineers, one of who is the department head. I'm quite sure that all the girls in church aren't on drugs; and all of them don't have children. And there are plenty of girls who're interested in ham radios. You just don't know them. With your obvious attitude, you are no doubt the reason why you can't find a girl. It's not your interests, it's your attitude. Based on the law of averages, you should have at least had one date in 15 years!

Well maybe they don't just mean YOUR hobbies. Just hobbies and clubs in general, something you can "stand" at least. No point of meeting a girl by doing something you hate. But try taking an art class, or other classes that relate to electrical engineering, or other things you might like to try. The reason they say to join clubs and such is so you meet someone who you can relate to, because if you go to bar either the chicks gonna be skanky or she's gonna blow you off.

You need to find some interests, besides ham radio and electrical engineering....
