My daughter is very clingy and whiney. She is one years old and she is only this way with me and not so much my husband. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just a typical phase that will fade with time. Please help, it is getting hard for me to get any household chores done!

Many mothers go through this problem, certain children are more clingy and whiney than other. My niece is like that with her nan, she screams and cries when nan has to leave. Usually it just means that they're REALLY attached to you. But, depending on the type of whining you also might assume that she feels she needs more affection/time from you. Try getting down on the floor and playing and giving her more hugs and kisses and stuff. Kids need alot of that from their parents especially mommy who is the primary care giver.

Sounds like my 15 month old. Her doctor said it was completely normal. So just keep on giving her the attention she needs. Perhaps you can look into having her in day care one day a week so that you can get things done. I am lucky my parents take my daughter one day a week so that I can clean and have time to myself.

I raised three kids and one was clingy. Each child will present you with stages that are tough, and thats parenthood. Its up to you to meet the challenge, and if its a trust and extra love thing the child craves then meet that challenge--make her needs your priority, stop what your doing pick her up and snuggle cuddle, swave her and cradle this little one with love, take a whole 20 minutes, 5 times a day. I always let my kids know I was there to listen and their little voice was heard. Now this does not mean they're running the show, it means they feel their mom is in tune to them, its about self worth.
