Hello first let me say to everyone that wrote you and had something rude to say about Promise Rings...they probably never even received one that is why they don't see the importance.
Next, a promise ring is a pre engagement ring with the promise that one day i will marry that person. It is like an engagement, but the good part about it is once youa re ready for engagement you get another ring... ANOTHER STEP UP not that it is about the jewerly its about the meaning of it and the love behind it. Yes, a woman can give her boyfriend an promise ring. I am planning on giving my boyfriend of over a year now...a promise ring. It will be after he has given me mine...but we discussed it several months ago and he is waiting for the right itme to give it to me. I AM SO EXCITED!! because I don't know how he is going to present it to me, but I am sure it will be orginal....
I am just waiting on him to give me mine (not to take his manliness away or his JOY) then when I am ready and have prayed about it...I will find a neat wayt o give him him ring as well. Promise rings are very serious and must not be taken lightly. Enjoy spending time together, getting to know one another, and one day...just ONE DAY you will know if he is the right guy to give your heart to or not.

A promise ring is just that-a ring with a promise,but it does not mean that the promise will be kept.
An engagement ring is given with the intent to marry,it is a more serious commitment.
As with a promise ring,it does not mean that marriage will take place due to the engagement being called off by either party or unfortunate circumstances occur.
IF the promise or the engagement is terminated for whatever reason,the rings must be returned to the giver.
A woman can give her boyfriend a ring too.

A promise ring is just what it says. A promise. Wether it be a promise to get married someday or a promise to do the dishes, or a promise to be monogamous, a promise ring can be a promise for anything. And yes you can give your boyfriend a promise ring. And it can be any sort of ring. It doesn't have to be a "promise" ring. It can simply be a nice ring from WalMart if you're low on cash.

A PROMISE ring is You PROMISE to Marry That person. And yes you can give him one but it is Usually the guy giving the ladya ring. However i gave my husband his 1 year after i got mine.

A promise ring is a ring with a promise to marry. It is usually a small ring and is given when the parties are too young to marry anytime soon.
I'm not sure a guy would appreciate a "promise" ring.

Honestly promise rings never made much sense to me. It's a promise that you'll be engaged some day, which is kind of silly, but that's just me.
A women can do anything she wants including giving a man a promise ring or even asking him to marry you. But to be honest, most guys wont understand the significance behind it and you may be disappointed at his reaction. But if you feel that he'll love it go for it. You know him better than I do.

a promise ring is a piece of jewelery given to someone with a promise. it is meant to be worn every day to remind that person of the promse made. usually a promise ring is a pre engagement ring with the promise that one day i will marry you. and yes a woman can give her bf one. i think that promise rings are pretty stupid and pointeless (if you are going to promise to marry why not get engaged) UNLESS one of you has to leave for an extended period of time (i.e. one of you is in the army and has to go on tour or something like that) then a promise ring is perfect if you give it to your partner with the promise to return to them.

yes, she can get him an engagement ring too.....I did my guy......a large black oval shaped star sapphire set in white gold....the metal is heavy and textured like tree bark...very manly....and to the thumbs down person, black star sapphires are his fav gemstone so why shouldn't I get him what he likes, and why shouldn't the guy get something special as well?????? How many of you engaged guys would like that kind of acknowlegement...jeeze it isn't ALL about the one fiancee.(girl)..the fiance (guy) counts too, ya know..need TWO for an engagement!

of course, i did that with my boyfriend to show how much i cared for him and to let him now that one day I would love to get married we just don't have the money, our own home, etc., i think its a wonderful idea!!!
