I think I believe in my opinion.

It depends on the question. For example, in this question you asked how I started my answers. It would have sounded rather foolish to say,

"Well, in my opinion I start them like this.. In my opinion."

So it really depends on what is asked, some things are just facts. Like if someone asks what the Bible says about something, and I can quote exactly what it says, I don't need to say my opinion or I believe because I can just type the scripture.

It isn't necessary to precede a statement with "I believe" or "I think" or "it is my opinion" because a statement posted is automatically an opinion, belief, or thought expressed by its author--unless a direct quote from another author is shown. It simply is redundant to express those introductory phrases.

The phrases are similar to, "I want to thank everybody for . . ."

Stop wanting and do the thanking. Similarly, stop prefacing your opinions with unnecessary phrases and state them accordingly.

I have always tried to steer clear of definite statements and attacking people. I tend to generalize in order to avoid starting something.
Even beginning our answers like that, some people will attack us simply because we hold those beliefs. Still, I do try to qualify my answers with statements like you mentioned.

Well, I think unless it is a quoted fact, you take anything on here to be an opinion when you are reading it, so there is no need to state the obvious.

I usually go with "I think" or "I believe" because I try not to speak for others or pretend that I know all the answers.
