No. Foods high in protien will build muscle/maintain a nice look while you lose fat. Fats are ok if you dont go overboard. Avoid carbs. Carb foods are white breads, pastas, potatoes, pizza crust, sodas, candy etc.

No, it doesn't matter. As long as you don't eat more calories than you burn. You can go on a 7000 cal/day chocolate cake diet, but if you burn 7100 cal/day, over time you will LOSE weight. Of course, that wouldn't be a very healthy diet, but you get the picture. Eat anything you want within a healthy diet (and in moderation), get regular exercise, and you won't have to worry about your weight.

Pertaining to losing weight, no it doesn't matter. A calorie is a calorie no matter where it comes from.

But...if all you eat is junk, it normally isn't as filling, so you tend to eat more.
To be healthy you should eat healthy, but if you want to just eat cake until you hit your calories for the day, you will lose weight.

Yes, it still matters. You need to take in certain amounts of protein and produce (fruits and vegetables) and selections from othe food groups to stay healthy. Limiting yourself to a certain number of calories but then getting them from junk food may take the weight off, but it can have harmful effects in other ways

Yes it matters! If all you eat are burgers, fries, pizza, ice cream, milk shakes, etc., you are not feeding your body the nutrients it needs to build strong bones and muscle. It also clogs up your arteries, leading you straight down the path to cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and stroke! And you are actually STARVING your body! Everything you eat will actually be stored on your body, (it's the bodies natural instinct) and you'll have a more difficult time loosing weight. And you can barely eat anything at all, if you are counting calories on this kind of diet. Your meal portions would have to be so small! You can eat tons more food all throughout the day if it's the RIGHT foods.
Of course, I have no idea what you eat, but my point is that YES, it DOES matter.
Just as it matters on how much you exercise; you can be skinny, but actually more unhealthy than your heavier counterpart.
It's very important, especially during calorie- counting, and dieting to feed your body the proper nutrients in order to loose weight effectively and in a healthy manner.

It depends how active you are. If you consume more calories than you burn through exercise, you'll gain weight. If you burn more calories than you consume, you'll lose weight. I eat a LOT but I'm always on the go so my weight never goes up (hiking, swimming, biking, etc).

No, it matters. You have to have the 5 food groups. they all play a different and important part in your health. Fiber is important and so is calcium. You gotta eat healthy and smart. it isnt about fat or skinny, think healthy.
