In all their effort to not "offend" the East, and maybe Africa with the words Merry Christmas, it looks to me like they may have offended China.

***So the naked Chinese groom, obviously offended by his brides appearance after raising her red veil, has chosen to blast her out of his life while still in her traditional red wedding dress.

Might this also be offending the Pakastani people?

Wouldn't it be more politically correct to just call a spade a spade and say Merry Christmas? Granted Christmas has become a commercial powerhouse and hence has lost some meaning, but shouldn't we face facts and admit that Christmas is what all the hoopla is about?

Ah, I see by the answers I probably should have left the last paragraph out. For the record, I have one foot firmly panted on both sides of the Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays issue. All religions deserve equal respect in the USA, even those that celebrate the solstice. I just think it's curious that any major retail executive would tell you that December would just be another month if not for Christmas sales, and yet they conspicuously ignore Merry Christmas.

I was hoping someone would address my sarcastic, and hopefully more fun, first issue here. I just picture the Googolieans burning the midnight oil trying to dream up a logo that offends no one. Did they succeed?

Do stick figures offend you in some way?

Christmas is not the ONLY thing that the "hoopla" is about this time of year. There are other celebrations in other religions going on, that are just as valid. I'm an American, living in America, and I approve of the inclusive "Happy Holidays" because it doesn't limit good wishes to those who share similar beliefs.

Facing the facts, as you request, means admitting that there are many different belief systems and peoples in America, all with the right to believe as they choose and have those beliefs respected, just as you are free to choose and have your beliefs respected. And respected, in this case, doesn't mean favored over all the others.

One fact is that Christians are one part of a larger world group, even in America, and should not dominate others or get special priority.

Let's see:

Christmas
Hanukkah
Kwanzaa

Yep, that'd be holidays.
Maybe YOU should face the fact that more is going on BESIDES the bloated, commercialized baloney we jokingly call a 'religious holiday.' At least Hanukkah really IS a religious holiday!

Today is Winter Solstice. Perhaps they should have something related to that on their homepage instead of holiday stuff.

I prefer "Happy Holidays" that way I can include all people and all beliefs!
