Hi, I'm a christian, and i totally respect atheism, catholics, jews, buddist(check spelling), muslims, hindus, etc...... I've been taught to respect other people's beliefs, even though most people won't respect yours. I 've also been taught not to throw God on people, kinda let them respond. Don't be all You're going to hell. That's rude and not up to any religion. WOW, I kinda got off subject there, sorry. But yeah i'm a christian and i've been taught that, but some "christians" won't do that. Some act like ohh, every religion is bad. As far as I've experienced, Christianity is the best for me. I have a peace, knowing I can come to God and ask for forgiveness. Hit me. GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!! By the way what do hindus believe?

As an agnostic, I try to respect all beliefs and faiths, though there are certain ones I have an extreme distaste for. But I would never go into any holy place of any religion and make a mockery of it. I believe some things are sacred.

Also, aside from Hindus, Buddhists are also taught and in fact encouraged to respect and learn about all religions.

Hello,

In the Roman Catholic church attitudes have changed a great deal, even in just my lifetime and we are taught to respect other faiths and customs showing them compassion and kindness as Christ himself would have done. At the same time we are expected to stick up for our faith and not be easy pushovers or cowards (verbally) when the
faith is attacked.

That said, I have never seen or met a Hindu or Muslim that attacked or belittled Catholicism; only other Christians.

Yes Friend,YES,

My elders too taught me so and I am following it for the past 5 decades.

That is one thing I find Great in Sanatana Dharma.
It declares ,the Sanatana dharma, that all that exists animate and inanimate in the entire Universe is nothing but HIM.So there is no contradiction of any statement.Whatever path one follows, he is welcome to do so, as the Sanathana Dharma declares that all faiths lead to HIM if followed correctly and faithfully.Chaaru vaakam {Speaking pleasantly , logical way (seemingly)} is called Chaarvaakam. It too is accepted .
I could not so far found any other religion or Dharma declaring so.I have not come across.
All faiths/religions lead to HIM .

I was not brought up to respect anything other than Christianity, but over the years I have developed a respect for ALL beliefs. It doesn't matter which God you worship, as long as you pray for good things and respect other's beliefs. I have several Wiccan friends that are very dear to me, and I have learned plenty from them about their belief system. I do not say they are wrong, nor do they tell me Christianity is stupid.

The religion I practice today tells one to respect others and their beliefs. Have an open mind and wish them all the blessings their god(s) can give them.

The Buddha set 3 little Golden rules from which all his other teachings sprang forth from:

1. Harm No One
2. Love Everyone
3. Keep Pure the Mind.

No One and Everyone encompasses all creatures, from all walks of life, from faiths to all statuses....

In fact, where ever Buddhism has spread to, it incorporates local customs and cultural beliefs, harmonises its practices that it does not offend and keepful the community in which it has arisen into

Again I decided to type as I could not find a suitable answer where I could vote.
CHRISTIANITY : There is clear cut mentioned in BIBLE that you can not bow or attend anything where a idol is being worshiped. So, there is no confusion that Christianity do not allow you to go and have a feel of any other religion.

MUSLIMS: Same as Christians...but they are less orthodox as seen in Christianity when it comes to religious tolerance. Ironically there is no bondage from scripture itself.

Absolutely. This is why we don't "spread the word". You keep your Gods and I'll keep mine. Edit: Aum, I do not bow my head when passing a church or a mosque simply because I don't even bow to my own deities. I don't "worship", I follow a standard of behavior and honor my Gods, who I consider more like Kin. If I don't bow to my own deities, why would I do that for a deity or its house that is totally foreign to me? I do admire the fact you have taken your respect to that level, tho. It shows an amount of tolerance sorely lacking in other faiths, I think.

Only if the faith/religion the person follows upholds the dictum that
God is one but the paths to attain the supreme are many

When religions claim 'ours is the only true god' no matter what sugar coating they try to pile on the inbuilt intolerance is evident from their attitude towards others.
