Yes. If they truly believed it, they would act accordingly.
No-one speeds when they know a cop has his radar pointed at them.
That's the difference between behavior based on actual knowledge, and mere claims of knowledge.

This is the parable about the seeds, in a different form.
And you are referring to the thorns and thistles that we allow to grow up and choke our spiritual side. You can know something to be true and it not affect you. I suppose that is paradoxical to some people.
Leaving God out of it, just the fact you are going to die, period, should have some effect, but often none is seen.
An example, I spoke with a woman once, almost 80 -- she died soon after we talked -- and she said, You know, my whole life I've wanted to study the Bible. -- And she never got around to it. This is the point made by Harry Chapin's song, Cat's in the Cradle.

I think if they truly believed they would indeed live very different lives. They have this idea that Jesus died on the cross so now all they have to do is say I believe and please forgive me and all is well.

I think that if they really believed that they would lead a more loving and sincere life. Instead they live lives that are false and full of pomp. It is a sad situation, isn't it friend?
